Guardian in Service: Defending Our Seas, Honoring Our Ranks, Embracing New Journeys

San Jose City, Nueva Ecija — The 48th Infantry (GUARDIAN) Battalion conducted its regular Flag Raising Ceremony on September 7, 2026, in observance of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness (MANA) Month 2026, emphasizing maritime awareness, patriotism, and environmental responsibility.

The Battalion Commander, LTC KENNY RAE C TIZON INF (GSC) PA led the ceremony and delivered the message of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., reminding Guardian Troopers of their vital role in protecting the country’s maritime and archipelagic interests. He likewise underscored that discipline extends beyond military duties, including proper waste disposal, segregation, and other responsible environmental practices.

The activity also featured the donning of ranks for newly promoted enlisted personnel, recognizing their dedication and commitment to service, followed by the send-off ceremony of PFC Duran, who will be reassigned to another unit. The Guardian family expressed its appreciation for his service and wished him success in his new assignment.

The activity reinforced the Guardian Troopers’ commitment to MANA Month 2026, highlighting the values of patriotism, discipline, environmental responsibility, and dedicated service to the nation.

48IB Honors Heroes, Bids Farewell to Reassigned Personnel

SAN JOSE CITY, NUEVA ECIJA — The 48th Infantry (Guardian) Battalion, Philippine Army, commemorated National Heroes Day through a flag ceremony held on August 31, 2026, at Headquarters 48IB, Camp MGen Romeo S. Gatan, Barangay Santo Niño 2nd, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija. The ceremony honored the bravery, patriotism, and selfless sacrifices of Filipino heroes who dedicated their lives in service to the nation.

The occasion also featured a send-off ceremony for PFC Osman, who is set to be reassigned to another unit. The activity recognized his dedicated service and valuable contributions to the 48IB, while fellow Guardians expressed their appreciation and wished him success in his new assignment. Following the activity, the Battalion Commander personally thanked PFC Osman for his dedicated service and offered words of advice and encouragement for his new assignment.
