Minor arrested for r**e charges

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ---------- A 17-year-old suspect, listed as region’s top 8 most wanted person for r**e, was hauled to jail following the successful law enforcement operation yesterday, May 14, in his residence in Brgy. Poblacion, Trento, Agusan del Sur.

PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, PNP Caraga director, disclosed that alias ‘Empoy’ was arrested by the joint force of Trento Municipal Police Station (MPS) and 2nd Agusan del Sur Provincial Mobile Force Company around 8:40 AM.

The operation stemmed from the warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 55, Trento, Agusan del Sur, dated May 6, 2024, under Criminal Case No. 24-1156 with no recommended bail.

Citing the report from Trento MPS, the suspect was tagged in sexually abusing a minor victim on May 11, 2022.

“The arrest of the suspect is the result of our intensified anti-criminality campaign to include the accounting of most wanted persons. On the other hand, our crime prevention efforts continue to increase public awareness and highlight the cooperation of the people,” RD KRAFT stated.

Cantilan Bank recognizes Caraga cop, community member in apprehending robbery suspect

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ----------- Cantilan Bank-Buenavista Branch recognized the police officer and a civilian here today (May 14) for the apprehension of a robbery suspect in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Gen. William K Hotchkiss III AFP (Ret), Cantilan Bank Chairman together with PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, PNP Caraga director and PCOL MICHAEL F LEBANAN, deputy regional director for operations/OIC deputy regional director for administration, personally handed over the certificate of appreciation to PSSg Niño I Gonzales, assigned to Buenavista Municipal Police Station (MPS), and a cash reward to Mr. Levie C Taragua.

According to the report, a robbery incident transpired on May 3, 2024, around 2:30 AM at the ATM Machine of Cantilan Bank in Purok 3, Brgy. 1, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Buenavista MPS immediately responded and conducted investigation. A witness stood and helped the police officers by providing the vital information leading to the capture of the suspect—a 16-year-old male resident of Brgy. Talo-ao, Buenavista town.

In addition, PBGEN KRAFT lauded the swift response of the police officers, an example of the effective and efficient implementation of the S.A.F.E Caraga; where Caraga cops should be Seen, Approachable, Felt, and Efficient.

“This incident underscores the invaluable importance of immediate police response and investigation as well as the cooperation of the public which led to the arrest of the suspect. Moreover, the courageous act of a citizen who bravely stepped forward and provided the vital information is truly commendable,” RD KRAFT stated.

146 Caraga police finish training on Crew-Served Weapon Manipulation, Deployment Seminar

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ----- A total of 146 Caraga police were successfully capacitated with additional skills and knowledge on Crew-Served (Negev, Machine Gun) Weapon Manipulation and Deployment after the joint closing ceremony was held here yesterday, May 9.

The seminar was conducted by the Regional Learning and Doctrine Development Division of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 in coordination with the Regional Special Training Unit (RSTU)13.

PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, Regional Director of PRO13, said that the participants were police officers assigned to the mobile forces and were subdivided into four clusters to accommodate and maximize their training needs.

The first cluster composed of 40 participants, participated in the training held on April 11 to 12 at the RSTU13 in Santiago, Agusan del Norte and was followed by the second cluster consisting of 35 participants on April 26 to 27 in Agusan del Sur.

The third and fourth clusters, with a total of 67 participants, had their training from April 18 to 24 in Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte respectively.

“The types of machinery stand as a symbol of our shared commitment to serve and protect the people from threats to peace and order. Its precision, power, and reliability make it a formidable tool in the hands of a well-trained police officer. Rest assured that the Caraga police will optimize the use of these logistical resources coupled with our responsibility of ensuring that these resources have been handled with care,” RD KRAFT said in his closing message.

Over 2.3M of shabu seized in Butuan City

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ----------- Police Regional Office (PRO)13’s strengthened campaign against illegal drugs led to the arrest of one High-Value Individual (HVI) for possession of P2,380,000.00 worth of illegal drugs during the implementation of a search warrant yesterday, May 8, in Butuan City.

PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, PRO13 director, divulged the arrest of alias Rey, 43 years old, and a resident of Villa Kanangga, Butuan City.

The operation was launched by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 13, Regional Intelligence Unit 13, City Intelligence Unit, Butuan City Police Station 1, and PDEA13 Agusan del Norte around 2:23 AM in the suspect’s residence.

Confiscated items during the operation were pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and other drug paraphernalia.

“Caraga police force and PDEA have pledged to a more intensified drive against the drug menace. We will win this fight through the help of the local folks and all stakeholders,” RD KRAFT stated.

4 nabbed in PNP Caraga’s anti-illegal drug ops

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ----------- PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, Police Regional Office (PRO)13 director, announced the arrest of one High Value Individual (HVI) and three Street Level Individuals (SLIs) in separate anti-illegal drugs operations yesterday, May 7, in the Caraga region.

Drug Enforcement Unit-Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) together with Surigao City Police Station, Tactical Operations Group 10, Naval Intelligence and Security Unit-74, Eastern Mindanao Element, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) SDN Provincial Office collared alias “Tisoy”, 41 years old, a resident of Brgy. Bagacay, Claver, Surigao del Norte, and listed as HVI through buy-bust in Brgy. Taft, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

Operatives of Agusan del Sur PPO and PDEA ADSPO also arrested alias “Leo”, 36 years old, in Brgy. Libertad, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur; and alias “Ron”, 40 years old, in Brgy. Cuevas, Trento, Agusan del Sur.

Meanwhile in Brgy. Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, personnel of Bislig City Police Station and PDEA SDSPO arrested alias “Mond”, 32 years old, and a resident of the aforesaid place.

Confiscated items during the operation were pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and other drug paraphernalia.

“High value individuals to include newly identified pushers and users are among our focus in our anti-illegal drug operations. These accomplishments became successful through the combined efforts of our PNP operatives, PDEA personnel, and the public,” RD KRAFT stated.

Suspects are now placed under police custody and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Butuan City cops nab wanted person for child abuse, 2 counts of r**e

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ------- PBGEN KIRBY JOHN B KRAFT, Police Regional Office (PRO)13 director reported the successful operation of Butuan City Police Station 5 that led to the arrest of a suspect for violation of RA No. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act and two counts of Qualified R**e as amended by RA No. 8353 (The Anti-R**e Law of 1997), yesterday, May 6.

Alias Tor, 38 years old, and a resident of P-4, Brgy. San Mateo, Butuan City was arrested around 12:55 PM in Purok 4, Brgy. San Mateo, Butuan City.

The operation stemmed from the warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Brgy. Libertad, Butuan City dated October 26, 2023 docketed under Criminal Case No. 2023-1147 for violation of RA No. 7610 with recommended bail amounting to PhP180,000.00 and Criminal Case Nos. 2023-1148 and 2023-1149 for Qualified R**e with no bail bond recommended.

Based on the report of Las Nieves Municipal Police Station, a 14-year-old victim was molested by the suspect in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte on January 1 and July 21, 2023.

“It is the goal of the police to protect the most vulnerable sector of the community, thus there is no slowing down in our campaign to arrest those individuals involved in abusing women and children,” PBGEN KRAFT said.
