CFIDP Shared Processing Facility (SPF) Inspection | June 9, 2026

An inspection was conducted on June 9, 2026, at selected beneficiary cooperatives under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) Shared Processing Facility (SPF) Project implemented by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech). The inspection team was headed by Dr. Aldrin A. Darilag, Department Manager II of the CFIDP National Program Management Office (NPMO), and was joined by representatives from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Regional and Provincial Offices, the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Agusan del Norte, the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Santiago, Jabonga, and Placer, the Regional Agricultural Engineering Division (RAED), the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and PhilMech.

The facilities inspected were:
🥥 White Copra Processing Facility – Jagupit Coconut Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, Brgy. Jagupit, Santiago, Surigao del Norte
🥥 Integrated Coco Coir, Coco Peat, and Geo Net Processing Facility – Mabini United Farmers Agriculture Cooperative, Brgy. Mabini, Placer, Surigao del Norte
🥥 Coco Water Processing Facility – Libas Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Brgy. Libas, Jabonga, Agusan del Norte

The activity aimed to assess the status and operational readiness of the facilities to ensure their effective implementation and long-term sustainability.

The 2026 Caraga Coconut Festival officially opened today at the North Atrium of Robinsons Butuan, Butuan City, carrying this year’s theme: “Niyog 360: One Coconut, Endless Opportunities.”

The week-long celebration highlights how one coconut can create countless opportunities for livelihood, wellness, enterprise development, innovation, and sustainable growth—bringing together farmers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, innovators, and coconut advocates from across the region.

Day 1 featured the Opening of the Coconut Philippines Trade Fair, the CFC Summit / Coconut: Wealth and Wellness Forum 2.0 / Coco Talk, with valuable insights from industry experts including:
🥥 Dr. Fabrian M. Dayrit on the health properties of coconut oil
🥥 Engr. Rafael S. Diaz on the role of CME as cocobiodiesel
🥥 Aldan Rae I. Tubo on coconut product quality standards
🥥 Atty. Gemeniano B. Crisante, Jr. on consumer empowerment in the local coconut industry

The celebration also opened the COCO (Coconut-Coffee) Tambayan — a vibrant space for music, poetry, coffee, local coconut products, and community stories that celebrate Caraga’s rich coconut culture.

The launching activity was attended by dignitaries and representatives from the CFIDP Implementing Agencies, together with coconut farmers, expressing their support for the continued growth of the coconut industry.
