City Assessment Services Department - Butuan City

The residents of Butuan City will benefit from the development projects to be implemented by the city funded out of the real property taxes. To establish a systematic method of real property assessment to support the Local Government Unit in improving its financial stability.

1. To exercise the function of appraisal and assessment, primarily for taxation purposes of all real properties;

o conduct intensive tax campaign and make frequent physical survey to verify and determine whether all real properties within the city are properly listed in the assessment roll;

3. To conduct periodic evaluation of all plans and programs of activities of this office;

4. To ensure that all laws and policies governing the appraisal and assessment of real properties for taxation purposes are properly executed;

5. To establish and install records management system and procedures such as proper filing methods, classification of records, cross reference records and proper records storage;

6. Prepares, installs, and maintains a system of tax mapping showing graphically all properties subject to assessment and gathers all data concerning the same;

7. To install and maintain real property identification and accounting through computerized programming;

8. To undertake the activities in updating the existing tax mapping and assessment of real properties in order to have a complete coverage of real properties;

9. To ensure uniformity, regularity, and consistency in the application and enforcement of policies, rules and regulations governing the administration of real properties; and

10. To appraise all real properties at fair market value and conduct regular ocular inspections to determine if they are property assessed.

11. Keeps a correct record of all transfers, lease and mortgages of real properties, insurance and costs of construction of buildings, and other improvements on land and land income for assessment purposes; and

12. Exercise such other duties and functions as maybe prescribed by law or ordinances. Vision:
