DUE to the high heat index monitoring by PAGASA-Mindanao PRSD in it’s Laguindingan Airport, Misamis Oriental Station as of August 12, 2026, with a 2-day forecast of 43 degrees celsius (DANGER CLASSIFICATION) for August 13 and 14, 2026, CDO City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy will suspend classes in all public schools from pre-school to high school levels on Thursday and Friday, August 13 and 14, 2026, respectively.

However, suspension of classes for private pre-school to high school levels and higher education institutions (HEI's) shall be left to the sound wisdom and discretion of their respective principals/administrators/school heads.

An Executive Order formalizing the class suspension will follow.

Regarding the recent post by Goldstar Daily News and Lihok Katawhan pages about the alleged official statement of “NURBEN Engineering and Public Contractor”, we wish to inform everyone that the page which posted the so-called “OFFICIAL STATEMENT” is a fake and duplicate page.

The original page of NURBEN was created in December 2022, while the duplicate page was created only in August 2025.

We are calling the attention of Goldstar Daily News, that we may continue to be partners in being responsible journalists and give utmost priority in verifying data and information before obtaining and publishing it. The public deserves to be properly informed, and not be misled or misinformed through non-credible and unverified sources. Combatting fake news together must be our top objective as mainstream media, and not be the source of it.
