SBMES Shines in Congressional District 2 Festival of Talents

Allacapan, Cagayan — December 12, 2025 — Sta. Barbara–Maguilling Elementary School proudly brought home multiple awards in the Congressional District 2 Festival of Talents held at Allacapan District today.
SBMES emerged Champion in the Number Race, showcasing the learners’ exceptional numeracy skills. The school also secured Third Place in Tahirawan and Fourth in Story Ender, solidifying its strong performance across various categories.

The winning participants were trained and guided by dedicated coaches Maria Soledad Corpuz, Nida P. Espinosa, and Genevieve B. de Dios, whose expertise and support contributed to the school’s successful campaign.

3 SBMES Young Journalists Qualify for Pre-RSPC After Division Schools Press Conference

BUGUEY, CAGAYAN—Three young campus journalists from Sta. Barbara-Maguilling Elementary School (SBMES) earned spots in the Pre-Regional Schools Press Conference Qualifiers (Pre-RSPC) after showcasing strong performances during the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held on December 1–4, 2025.

Prince Dwayne Onate qualified in Photojournalism-English, while Ariann Celestin Bulusan earned a berth in Column Writing-English. Oliver V. Sarmiento also secured a qualifying position in Column Writing-Filipino, adding to SBMES’s achievements in the annual division-wide competition.

Other participants who represented the school in various categories were Kire Theriz Panaligan, Geovy Ann Cedeño, James Macadag-um, and Preize G. Guzman.

SBMES also celebrated the Radiobroadcasting Team’s 3rd Place finish in Best Infomercial, further highlighting the school’s competitive performance in the DSPC.

The team was guided by advisers Maricar V. Paracad, Marisa C. Hernandez, Joyrin D. Tica, Raquel M. Cabauatan, Elvira A. Salas, Maria Joyce A. Ampe, and Marivilla D. Delaza.

The qualified campus journalists are set to undergo Pre-RSPC at Peñablanca National High School on December 15–17, 2025.
Meanwhile during the intensive training,the qualifiers will be judged and top 3 will join the Regional Schools Press Conference.

SBMES Kicks Off Intramurals 2025 with Spirit and Sportsmanship!

Unity, Energy, and Excellence Shine in Every Game...
Sta. Barbara-Maguilling Elementary School officially opened its Intramurals 2025 with great excitement and school spirit on October 6, 2025, at the SBMES grounds. The weeklong event celebrates sportsmanship, teamwork, and excellence among learners from kindergarten to Grade 6.
The opening ceremony was graced by Hon. Vice Mayor Reymundo E. Villacete III and Hon. Clement Ortiz, Sangguniang Bayan Member, who both delivered inspiring messages encouraging the young athletes to play with fairness and passion. Their presence added motivation and pride to the learners, teachers, and parents who attended the event.
Mrs. Sheila C. Saquing, Principal II, officially declared the Intramurals 2025 open, marking the beginning of a week filled with friendly competition and fun activities. The crowd was thrilled by the electrifying performance of the Kindergarten to Grade 3 learners, who showcased their energy and talent through lively field demonstration presentations that set the tone for the games ahead.
The SBMES Intramurals 2025 promises a week of excitement, unity, and discovery of young champions — proving once again that at SBMES, every learner is a winner!

SBMES Launches Rosary Month with Daily Devotion

Learners unite in prayer, guided by SELG and YES-O officers...

Sta. Barbara-Maguilling Elementary School (SBMES) formally launched the observance of the Holy Rosary Month with a prayerful gathering led by the Supreme Elementary Learners Government (SELG) and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) officers.

The daily devotion takes place at the school grotto where Grade 4 to Grade 6 learners join together in praying the Holy Rosary. This initiative aims to strengthen the spiritual life of pupils while fostering unity, discipline, and faith.

School officials expressed their appreciation to the SELG and YES-O leaders for spearheading the activity and encouraging their fellow learners to participate actively in the devotion throughout the month of October.

A day of recognition and appreciation............
Sta. Barbara-Maguilling Elementary School joyfully celebrated Teachers’ Day, an event organized by the Supreme Elementary Learners Government (SELG) and YES-O officers to honor the dedication and hard work of teachers.

The celebration was graced by distinguished guests including Hon. Vice Mayor Reymundo Villate III, Atty. Carmelo O. Villacet, ABC Federation President,Hon Clement Ortiz, Hon. Eric Taguba, Julian Mario Lappay, SPTA President Nemecio Conag, and Aprille Hipolito, who all shared their heartfelt messages of appreciation. Select learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 also expressed their gratitude through inspiring words and tokens of love.

On behalf of the teachers, Sheila C. Saquing, Principal II, delivered a warm response, thanking the students, parents, and community leaders for their support and recognition.

The celebration highlighted the vital role of teachers as mentors and nation-builders, reminding everyone of the lasting impact they leave in every learner’s life.
