𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗟 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟯 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗮𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗯-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗱

In continued support of KALAHI sub-projects, the Municipality of Cagwait successfully completed the turnover of a sub-project and the inauguration of the Phase 3 drainage canal in Barangay Bacolod.

The activity was facilitated by the Local Government Unit of Cagwait through the KALAHI Municipal Coordinating Team, in partnership with KALAHI-DSWD. This Phase 3 project is an LGU-led initiative funded by the LGU Cagwait in collaboration with Barangay Bacolod, aimed at improving drainage systems and addressing flood-related concerns in the community.

Present during the activity were Hon. Mayor Glenn Batiancila, REE, who continues to strongly support KALAHI programs, together with Barangay Bacolod officials led by Punong Barangay David C. Lozada, Jr., Ma’am Leizer T. Dumagan (CDO III, DSWD), Municipal Heads of Offices, the KALAHI Municipal Coordinating Team, Area Coordinating Team, and Community Volunteers.

This initiative demonstrates the strong collaboration among the LGU, partner agencies, and the community in delivering projects that directly address local needs, strengthening not only infrastructure but also unity and active participation among stakeholders.

𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐇𝐈-𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐒𝐒 𝐀𝐅 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝟑 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲

The LGU of Cagwait, together with KALAHI-DSWD, successfully held the Phase 3 Municipal Accountability Reporting at the Mayor’s Conference Room, bringing together local leaders and community partners. The event was attended by Vice Mayor Melchie C. Tuscano, members of the Municipal Inter-Agency Committee (MIAC), the Area Coordinating Team, the Municipal Coordinating Team, Barangay Captain David C. Lozada Jr., and BDC-TWG Chairperson Jesusito Navales Samblingo.

The meeting also highlighted the upcoming Panahon ng Pagkilos: Philippine Community Resilience Project, a new disaster-focused initiative under DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS starting in 2026. This program is designed to further empower communities in preparing for and responding to disasters.

Through this reporting, the LGU reinforces its commitment to transparent, participatory, and accountable governance, strengthening its ongoing partnership with KALAHI-DSWD for the benefit of the residents of Cagwait.

𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐂𝐀𝐆𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐒 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐒𝐖𝐃 𝐊𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐇𝐈-𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐒𝐒

In continuing its commitment to community development and resilience, the Local Government Unit of Cagwait, in partnership with DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS, conducted the Philippine Community Resilience Project - Local Government Unit Capacity Assessment on October 8, 2025, at the Mayor’s Conference Room.

The activity was attended by Municipal Mayor Glenn G. Batiancila, REE, Vice Mayor Melchie C. Tuscano, Sangguniang Bayan Members, and members of the Municipal Resilience Team (MResT), KALAHI Municipal Coordinating Team, and Area Coordinating Team.

It was facilitated by the KALAHI Municipal Coordinating Team, with Ma’am Leizer T. Dumagan, CDO III, and Sir Dennis Barber, PDO III, serving as Resource Persons from the DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Program Management Office.

This activity aims to assess the LGU’s capacity in implementing resilience-focused programs, strengthen inter-agency collaboration, and promote sustainable and inclusive community development in Cagwait.
