STRENGTHENING FORENSIC MOBILITY, ENHANCING FORENSIC SERVICE

The Regional Forensic Unit 4A led by PCOL GORGONIA A SIA, Regional Chief, received one (1) Toyota Innova donated by the City Government of Calamba under the leadership of Hon. Roseller “Ross” Rizal, City Mayor, through the efforts of Hon. Saturnino Lajara, RFU4A Regional Advisory Council (RAC) Chairman on August 19, 2026 held at the City Hall of Calamba City, Laguna.

The donated vehicle will be utilized by RFU4A for official and operational purposes, particularly in supporting forensic and field operations and ensuring the timely delivery of forensic services within its area of responsibility.

The RFU4A expresses its sincere appreciation to the City Government of Calamba and the RFU4A RAC for their invaluable support and commitment to strengthening forensic service delivery.

Basic Fi****ms Identification Course Graduation
Thirty (30) participants of the Basic Fi****ms Identification Course (BFAIDC) Class 01-004-FG-2026-01 successfully completed the rigorous six-month training program today, August 14, 2026, at Maringal Hall, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City.
The closing ceremony was graced by PBGEN PIERRE PAUL F CARPIO, Director, Forensic Group, PBGEN ROLINDO M SUGUILON, Director, PNP Training Service, represented by PCOL ARIEL S BAIT, Chief, Administrative and Resource Management, PNP Training Service, and the members of the Command Group.

CTG TAKES TRIPLE HIT AS 5 REBELS SURRENDER, WAR MATERIEL RECOVERED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., recorded another significant milestone in the government’s counterinsurgency campaign after five Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) members voluntarily surrendered in Luzon and the Visayas, while an arms cache was recovered in Mindanao during separate joint operations conducted on July 18 and 19, 2026, further weakening the operational capability of insurgent groups and reinforcing peace and security efforts nationwide.

In Pilar, Sorsogon, personnel of the 9th Special Action Battalion (9SAB), Special Action Force (SAF), together with the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Sorsogon Police Provincial Office, Pilar Municipal Police Station, other PNP units, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), facilitated the voluntary surrender of alias “Boy,” a non-Periodic Status Report-listed CTG member affiliated with Kilusang Larangan Gerilya 1, Sub-Regional Committee 3, Bicol Regional Party Committee.

During the surrender, the individual voluntarily turned over one caliber .38 revolver, one improvised explosive device (IED), and three rounds of caliber .38 ammunition.

Meanwhile, in separate operations conducted on July 18 and 19, 2026, in Samar, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar, the Police Regional Office 8 facilitated the voluntary surrender of four male personalities formerly affiliated with the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) through sustained intelligence gathering, community engagement, and negotiation efforts. During the surrender, one of the former CTG members voluntarily turned over one caliber .38 revolver with a defaced serial number. The four surrenderers are currently undergoing documentation, proper disposition, and assessment for possible enrollment in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

In a separate joint operation in Brgy. Maitum, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, personnel of the 1st Special Action Battalion (1SAB), SAF, together with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, other PNP units, and the AFP, recovered a concealed CTG arms cache based on information provided by a former rebel. Recovered from the site were one caliber 5.56 rifle, two Claymore-type anti-personnel improvised explosive devices, two magazines for a caliber 5.56 rifle, and 40 rounds of caliber 5.56 ammunition. The recovered firearm, magazines, ammunition, and explosives were placed under police custody for documentation, forensic examination, and proper disposition.

“Every surrender and every weapon recovered deny terrorist groups the ability to threaten communities and endanger innocent lives. These accomplishments reflect the determination of the PNP and our partner agencies to protect the nation while creating opportunities for lasting peace,” said PNP Chief PGEN Nartatez.

“Mas marami na ang pinipiling bumalik sa mapayapang pamumuhay kaysa manatili sa armadong pakikibaka. Patuloy nating palalakasin ang tiwala ng mamamayan upang mas marami pa ang sumunod sa landas ng kapayapaan,” he added.

These accomplishments reinforce the PNP Focused Agenda, a strategic direction for organizational transformation that advances responsive, intelligence-driven, and mission-oriented policing. Guided by the key priority of Enhanced Managing Police Operations, the PNP remains steadfast in reducing insurgent capabilities while supporting initiatives that encourage peaceful reintegration into society.

“Sustainable peace is achieved by combining decisive law enforcement with meaningful opportunities for those who choose to abandon violence. The PNP will remain committed to protecting every community and preserving national security through sustained collaboration with our partner agencies,” PGEN Nartatez emphasized.

“Hindi tayo titigil sa pagprotekta sa ating mga komunidad at sa pagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa mga nais magbago. Ang kapayapaan ay bunga ng sama-samang pagkilos ng pamahalaan at ng mamamayan,” he further said.

As the PNP strengthens its nationwide campaign against insurgency through sustained operations and programs that promote peaceful reintegration under the directive of President Ferdinand R. PNP NABS NCR'S NO. 1 REGIONAL MOST WANTED PERSON IN QUALIFIED THEFT CASES

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested the National Capital Region Police Office's (NCRPO) No. 1 Regional Most Wanted Person in a warrant operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Pasay City on the morning of July 21.

The 31-year-old female suspect was taken into custody by operatives of the CIDG Northern District Field Unit by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Makati City for 13 counts of Qualified Theft. The court recommended bail of ₱40,000.00 for each count, or a total of ₱520,000.00.

The accomplishment reflects the PNP's continuing effort to locate and arrest wanted persons through intelligence-driven and lawful police operations. It also supports the Enhanced Managing Police Operations pillar of the PNP Focused Agenda by strengthening the implementation of court-issued warrants and reinforcing public safety efforts in line with the peace and order priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating personnel for the successful implementation of the warrant.

"Mahalaga ang bawat warrant na naipatutupad natin dahil bahagi ito ng pagbibigay ng hustisya at pagpapanatili ng kaayusan. Saludo ako sa ating mga operatiba sa maayos at disiplinadong pagsasagawa ng kanilang tungkulin. Patuloy nating gagawin ang ating trabaho nang may paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat tao at alinsunod sa batas."

He added, "Hindi tayo hihinto sa paghahanap sa mga taong may kinakaharap na kaso. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating koordinasyon at mga operasyon para maipatupad ang mga utos ng hukuman sa maayos, ligtas, at propesyonal na paraan."

The PNP continues to encourage the public to cooperate with law enforcement authorities by providing timely and accurate information that may help in the arrest of wanted persons.

PNP REINFORCES DRIVE AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS, CALLS FOR UNITED ACTION TO PROTECT THE YOUTH

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reinforced its call for stronger community cooperation in protecting children and young people from the dangers of illegal drugs following a recent incident at a public high school in Bacolod City on Monday, July 20, where police responded after school authorities sought assistance in the recovery of approximately 30 grams of a substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated Standard Drug Price of ₱204,000.00.

The responding police officers immediately secured the recovered items for proper documentation and submission to the appropriate forensic laboratory for examination.

Consistent with existing laws and child protection policies, the matter was immediately referred to the appropriate social welfare authorities for the necessary assessment and intervention, while police continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident through a fair, impartial, and child-sensitive investigation.

The PNP emphasized that situations involving children require not only the proper application of the law but also timely guidance, intervention, and community support. Protecting the youth from the influence of illegal drugs is a shared responsibility that calls for sustained cooperation among families, schools, local government units, social welfare agencies, community organizations, and law enforcement. Through continued awareness, early intervention, and open communication, communities can help create a safer environment where children are protected and guided away from harmful influences.

The police response is in line with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which promotes proactive policing, stronger collaboration with stakeholders, and responsive public safety initiatives. Kailangan nating magtulungan—ang pamahalaan, mga paaralan, mga pamilya, at ang buong komunidad—upang mailayo ang ating mga kabataan sa panganib ng ilegal na droga."

He also urged the public to remain vigilant and actively support prevention efforts.

"Hindi lamang tungkulin ng pulisya ang pagprotekta sa ating mga kabataan. Malaki ang maitutulong ng maagap na pagbabahagi ng impormasyon, pakikilahok sa drug awareness programs, at patuloy na pagtutulungan ng komunidad upang maiwasan ang pagkalantad ng ating mga anak sa ilegal na droga. Ang bawat maliit na hakbang ng bawat isa ay maaaring maging malaking ambag sa kinabukasan ng ating kabataan."

The PNP encourages the public to support drug awareness and prevention efforts and help create safe environments where children and young people can seek guidance and support. Through sustained community cooperation and timely intervention, communities can better protect the youth from the dangers of illegal drugs while ensuring that those who need help receive appropriate assistance.
