APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN | The Ten Outstanding Firefighters of the Philippines 2026 are now accepting nominees! Now in its third year, this project borne of the partnership of BFP and SM PRIME Holdings, Inc., to give due recognition for exemplary BFP Personnel.

The Search is open to all active BFP Commissioned Officers - from Fire Inspector (FINSP) to Fire Senior Superintendent (FSSUPT) (except those assigned as Regional Directors or Officer-in-Charge, Regional Offices), and Non-Commissioned Officers - from Fire Officer 1 (FO1) to Senior Fire Officer 4 (SFO4) with the following eligibility/qualifications:

- At least five (5) years of continuous service as of date of nomination;
- Very Satisfactory (VS) rating or higher for the last six (6) rating period;
- No pending administrative and criminal case; and
- Not due for retirement within the year 2026.

The uniform criteria for the selection in the National Level Search are as follows:
- Accomplishments (20%)
- Awards and Recognitions (20%)
- Innovation and Ingenuity (15%)
- Individual Performance Commitment and Review (15%)
- Operational Readiness (10%)
- Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) (10%) OR
Acts/Deeds Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) (10%)
- Socio-Civic Involvement (10%)

Each application must include five copies of:
- Endorsement Letter from Nominator (one [1] page only) (Nominator can be highest commanding officer of the unit, immediate superior, or local chief executive

- Copy of the Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) as of December 31, 2025

The Bureau of Fire Protection CALABARZON and The Medical City formally strengthened their partnership through the Ceremonial Signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held on June 4, 2026.

The agreement marks a significant step in enhancing collaboration between the two institutions in areas of health, wellness, emergency preparedness, and other mutually beneficial programs that support the welfare of BFP personnel and the communities they serve. The ceremonial signing highlighted the shared commitment of both organizations to promote public service excellence, strengthen inter-agency cooperation, and develop initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being and safety of the public.

Under the leadership of FCSUPT ROY RODERICK P AGUTO, DSC, Regional Director of BFP CALABARZON, the Bureau continues to build meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders, reinforcing its commitment to delivering responsive, compassionate, and people-centered public service.

IN PHOTOS: The BFP Regional Office IV-A, under the leadership of our Regional Director, FCSUPT ROY RODERICK P AGUTO, DSC, actively demonstrated its commitment to community development and safety by joining the annual Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Camp Vicente Lim Integrated School, Calamba City, Laguna. Embracing the spirit of bayanihan, selected BFP personnel swapped their daily tasks for cleaning and repair tools to help prepare the campus for the upcoming school year. The initiative underscores the agency's belief that fostering a safe, conducive learning environment is a shared responsibility that extends far beyond the classroom walls.

This collaboration highlights the enduring partnership between BFP Region IV-A and local educational institutions. By investing time and physical effort into Camp Vicente Lim Integrated School, the agency not only helps secure a clean and functional space for students but also gives our full support to our teachers in their dedication as they shape the future of this nation. Cabuyao City, Laguna - On the afternoon of 22 May 2026, BFP Cabuyao City received a report of an explosion at Brgy. Butong, Cabuyao City, Laguna. Upon receiving the information and verifying it, its personnel immediately mobilized firefighting resources to respond to the incident.

In response, the station dispatched two (2) firetrucks and one (1) ambulance to the area. Responders arrived at the fire scene at around 1808H. Upon scene size-up, it is noted that the fire had already grown significantly by the time units reached the area, prompting the declaration of the 1st alarm. Firefighting operations were carried out immediately, while other support teams also arrived, including auxiliary groups from Brgy. Mamatid, Brgy. Banlic, and Brgy. Dita in Sta. Rosa. By 1840H, the fire was placed under control, and by 1908H of the same date, “fire out” was declared. The firefighting and extinguishment operation lasted a total of 1 hour and 33 minutes, with personnel continuing response efforts as authorities prepare for follow-up actions related to the incident.

Tagaytay City, Cavite – The Tagaytay City Fire Station successfully conducted a Basic Life Support and Basic First Aid Lecture and Demonstration for the employees and staff of the Philippine Judicial Academy, equipping participants with essential life-saving knowledge and skills needed during emergencies. The activity covered key topics such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), proper first aid techniques, bandaging procedures, and the appropriate response to various emergency situations. Participants also engaged in hands-on demonstrations to enhance their understanding and practical application of the skills discussed.

The activity likewise fostered stronger collaboration between the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine Judicial Academy in advancing public safety and emergency preparedness among government personnel. Under the leadership of FCSUPT ROY RODERICK P AGUTO, DSC, Regional Director of the Bureau of Fire Protection CALABARZON, the Tagaytay City Fire Station, led by FCINSP ARMAND LEE M ANDRES, City Fire Marshal, remains steadfast in promoting fire safety, emergency preparedness, and life-saving education through proactive community engagement and capacity-building initiatives.

Victoria, Laguna - Personnel of the Victoria Fire Station joined local government employees in a Coastal Clean-Up Drive held at Barangay Nanhaya, Victoria, Laguna. The activity brought together several government offices in the municipality to actively participate in cleaning efforts along the coastline, with the goal of promoting environmental awareness and strengthening community involvement in preserving marine ecosystems.

Participants focused on the proper collection and disposal of waste materials to help keep coastal areas clean, safe, and healthier for both residents and the environment. The drive reflected a continuing commitment to environmental stewardship, emphasizing that sustained community action is essential in reducing pollution and protecting marine life.

Through collective efforts like this clean-up, BFP CALABARZON, under the leadership of our Regional Director, FCSUPT ROY RODERICK P AGUTO, DSC, aims to encourage more residents to take part in maintaining clean and orderly coastal spaces for future generations.

Real, Quezon - Personnel from the Real Fire Station in Real, Quezon conducted water rationing activities in the residential areas of Brgy. Poblacion 61, as part of efforts to manage and distribute available water resources to affected households. The rationing was implemented within the community to ensure more organized distribution of water while addressing local supply limitations. Residents in the covered areas were also advised to use water responsibly during the rationing period.

Barangay residents in Pob. 61 expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the activity helped in regulating water availability among households.

This undertaking reflects our continued role in supporting residents during resource concerns, especially in times when water supply requires closer monitoring and coordination. This initiative is in support to the visions of our Regional Director, FCSUPT ROY RODERICK P AGUTO, DSC.
