Happy Teacher’s Day to all our teachers! 💖

Yana la ak mag-greet kay nahuman pa man la iyo klase. Haha! 🤭

Today, I simply want to say: we see you, we appreciate you, and we are grateful for YOU.
I have many teachers in my life whom I consider friends, and through them, I have seen just how much teachers give, diri la ira time and energy, pero often their own resources, patience, creativity, and even a piece of themselves para la masigurado that their students are cared for and able to learn.

Teaching has never been just a job. It is a responsibility carried with heart.

And while we may celebrate you today, I hope you remember that you do not need an announcement, a suspended class, or a special occasion to give yourself permission to REST.

If you are tired, rest.
If you are overwhelmed, pause.
If you need to step back for a while, give yourself that space.

Remember, an Ginoo ngani nagpahuway..

Taking care of yourself does not make you less committed to your students. It allows you to continue being the teacher they need.

To every teacher who has stayed late, spent from their own pocket, prepared beyond working hours, worried about a student, celebrated a small victory, or simply showed up even on the days when it was difficult, SALAMAT. đź’–đź’–đź’–

Your work matters.
Your sacrifices matter.
And your well-being matters, TOO.

May you never feel guilty for resting.
May you never feel that you have to earn the right to take a break!!! 🙏

Happy Teacher’s Day!
You are appreciated, not only for what you do, but for who you are. ❤️❤️❤️

A Step Toward Dialogue and Responsible Action

Today, we joined the meeting convened by the Provincial Government under the leadership of Hon. Governor Shari Ann Tan, bringing together representatives from the Province, the City Government, Vena Energy, and environmental advocates to discuss the concerns surrounding the proposed wind turbine project in the Tarangban Falls area and the Pan-as–Hayiban Protected Landscape.

The meeting provided an opportunity for all concerned parties to sit together, hear the issues raised, and discuss the proper steps moving forward.

Among the matters discussed were the announcement placing the identified turbine activities on hold, as well as the decision not to proceed with the proposed road network that would pass through the area near Tarangban Falls.

As government, our role is to facilitate dialogue, ensure that the proper processes are observed, and help find a way forward that takes into consideration environmental protection, the concerns of our communities, existing laws and regulations, and the interests of all stakeholders.

This meeting is an important step—not necessarily the end of the discussion, but a step toward a more informed, transparent, and responsible process.

We remain committed to protecting our natural resources while ensuring that every concern is heard and every appropriate process is followed.

Approved with recommendations.📱

The Committee on Mass and Media, Communication & Information gave favorable consideration to a City Ordinance of Catbalogan City promoting responsible mobile phone use, healthy screen habits, and digital well-being among minors.

Our recommendations focus on digital literacy, child privacy, accessibility, clear communication, and family-centered support—keeping the campaign educational, non-punitive, and child-centered.

For healthier digital habits. For the children of Catbalogan. 👧👦

Building a more inclusive Samar means building a future where every child and every family has access to the care they need. đź’–

As part of this vision, the Province of Samar, under the leadership of Governor Sharee Ann Tan, has launched a scholarship program that provides full educational support to deserving students who choose to pursue Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy.

In return, these scholars will come home to serve the people of Samar after graduation—helping us build a stronger, more accessible, and more sustainable rehabilitation workforce right here in our province.
We are proud to be working hand in hand with the University of the Philippines in making this vision possible. It was a meaningful opportunity to welcome our UP partners and our scholars to Samar and to visit Center for Developmental Pediatrics, where we also discussed the expansion of the center.

As the need for therapy services continues to grow, so does our responsibility to create a bigger and better space where more children and families can receive the support they deserve.

This is more than a scholarship.
This is an investment in our people.
This is an investment in inclusion.
And most importantly, this is an investment in a Samar where no one is left behind.

Honored to have been presented the Jose Avelino awards. đź’–
