LATEST | HIGHLIGHTING THE PARAMOUNT SIGNIFICANCE OF YOUTH COLLABORATION AND YOUTH INVOLVEMENT IN CHAMPIONING ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION AND JUST TRANSITION
The Just Transition Community Rollout
continues after its successful conduct last August 5, 2023, at Agila Hall, GMA Municipal Building, General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.
Various youth representatives from the Sangguniang Kabataan, youth development councils and officers from various cities and municipalities from Cavite participated to have a common platform to discuss the concept of Just Transition, fostering open dialogue on local issues related to this framework.
Participants were enriched with an enlightening Breakout Session structured around four modules: Global Warming, Impacts of Climate Change, Climate Action, and Mitigation and Adaptation. These modules delivered comprehensive insights and fostered a profound understanding of the critical issues at hand.
The participants also underwent Local Issue Identification and Planning, allowing each group to collaboratively brainstorm and identify prevailing challenges within their respective areas and barangays. This workshop enabled the participants to devise innovative strategies and solutions to effectively address the identified concerns.
Aligning with the visionary strategies outlined in the PYDP 2023-2028, this collaborative endeavor takes a pivotal step toward catalyzing positive change specifically for the environmental sector. By fostering informed discussions and innovative solutions, the NYC, FES Philippines, and Y4JT pave the way for a more sustainable and equitable future.
