FROM A DREAM TO A REALITY: A MILESTONE FOR TEJERO HEALTH SERVICES

I would like to begin by emphasizing the importance of having an Ambulance/Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) for our community.

For a barangay like Tejero, having a dedicated PTV is essential in strengthening our emergency response and healthcare services. It provides safe and timely transportation for patients who need immediate medical attention, referrals to higher-level healthcare facilities, and other residents in times of need.

This has been a dream and a priority since 2023.

Every time there was an opportunity to receive financial assistance from the City Government, I consistently proposed the procurement of an ambulance/PTV for our Tejero Health and Birthing Center (THBC). I even reached out to the National Government through formal requests for assistance, because I firmly believed in the importance of having this vehicle for our community.

After continuous efforts, advocacy, and determination, the procurement was finally approved in 2025.

Today, I am truly grateful that we can finally say that we now have our own Patient Transport Vehicle.

This is especially meaningful because our Tejero Health and Birthing Center has been PhilHealth-accredited since 2023, and we have also worked to implement Zero Billing, providing greater access to healthcare services for our constituents, subject to PhilHealth rules and applicable requirements.

This achievement was made possible through the financial assistance we received under the Archival-Osmeña Administration, together with the support and cooperation of the Barangay Tejero Council .

As the Chairman of the Committee on Health, I sincerely thank the entire Barangay Tejero Council Hon Nino Lao, Hon Almar Carl Amen, Hon Jijing Cadungog, Hon Ofelia Conje, Hon Regan Fajardo, Hon Imot Salcedo ,SK Chairman Kim Olango and Hon Kuya Kap Harold S. Seno for supporting my resolution and for recognizing the importance of strengthening our health services.

And, of course, my deepest gratitude goes to our BHW’s, CCHD Staff, Sec Joebert Rosalejos and Treasurer Sarah Sunpongco, Barangay Workers and to the people of Barangay Tejero for your continued trust and support. You are our inspiration to continue providing sincere, compassionate, and dedicated service to our community.

From a dream in 2023, to approval in 2025, and now to having our own PTV—this is a milestone we can all be proud of.

This is not just a vehicle. It is an investment in the health, safety, and well-being of every Tejerohanon.
