On May 25, 2026, PTC Daanbantayan successfully conducted a Job Induction Program for the graduates of Housekeeping NC II and ACP NC II. The activity was facilitated by the Housekeeping NC II trainer, who provided valuable discussions and practical guidance to help the graduates prepare for employment.

The program focused on the importance of proper preparation before applying for a job, appropriate behavior during job applications and interviews, and the desirable attitudes, work ethics, and professional traits expected in the workplace. Participants were also guided on how to present themselves confidently and responsibly as future professionals.

The activity aimed to equip the graduates with essential knowledge, positive values, and workplace readiness skills to help them become more prepared and competitive in seeking employment opportunities.

In line with the opening of the WorldSkills Philippines Central Visayas Regional Skills Olympics 2026, TESDA VII Regional Director Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., CESO III, ASEAN Eng. met with members of the media during a Media Briefing held at the Office of the Regional Director (ORD).

The briefing served as an opportunity to discuss the significance of the Regional Skills Olympics, highlight the participation of the region's top competitors and experts, and underscore the vital role of technical vocational education and training in developing a highly skilled and globally competitive workforce.

TESDA VII extends its gratitude to its media partners for their continued support in promoting skills excellence and sharing the inspiring stories of our competitors and institutions.

Present during the media briefing were representatives from DYLA, DYRF, GMA Regional TV, SunStar Cebu, The Freeman, Radyo Pilipinas Cebu, DYAR Sonshine Radio, CCTN Channel 47, TV5, and One News.

A defining moment of the WorldSkills Philippines Central Visayas Regional Skills Olympics 2026 was the Symbolic Lighting of the Torch, representing the passion, determination, and pursuit of excellence that drive every competitor to reach greater heights.

The torch was lit by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐁𝐞𝐚 𝐆. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐚, Silver Medalist in Bakery at the WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 Competition, whose remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration to aspiring skilled professionals across the region.

As the flame was kindled, it symbolized not only the official commencement of the competition but also the enduring spirit of WorldSkills, where talent is nurtured, skills are honed, and future champions are forged.

May this torch continue to inspire every competitor to showcase their best, embrace the values of excellence and integrity, and strive for success on the regional, national, and international stage.

The opening ceremony of the WorldSkills Philippines Central Visayas - Regional Skills Olympics 2026 was further strengthened by inspiring messages of support from esteemed leaders who continue to champion skills development and workforce excellence in the region.

A special recording message was delivered by Congresswoman Rachel “Cutie” Del Mar, expressing her support for the competitors, experts, and institutions participating in this year’s competition.

The event was also graced by Cebu City Mayor Nestor D. Archival, Sr., who personally conveyed his message of encouragement to the delegates and reaffirmed the city government's support for programs that empower Filipino learners and workers through technical vocational education. Mayor Archival likewise extended an interview opportunity, highlighting the significance of the competition and its contribution to developing a highly skilled and globally competitive workforce.

Representing the Province of Cebu, Governor Pamela S. Baricuatro delivered her message of support, emphasizing the vital role of skills training and competency development in creating opportunities and driving regional growth.

Their unwavering support reflects the strong collaboration among government, industry, and education sectors in advancing skills excellence and preparing the next generation of world-class Filipino professionals.

The WorldSkills Philippines Central Visayas Regional Skills Olympics 2026 was formally opened through the ceremonial Cutting of the Gold Chain, symbolizing the unlocking of opportunities, innovation, and excellence in skills development.

The ceremony was led by Mr. Avelino A. Masong of the Cebu Contractors Association (CCA) and Dr. Roland Villegas of the Department of Education, with the support of Regional Director Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., CESO III, ASEAN Eng., Assistant Regional Director Carlito F. Quintano, Provincial Director Floro T. Ringca, Atty. Wilbert Ching of CCA, and Mr. Royden Rusiana of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Following the symbolic opening, Regional Director Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr. officially declared the competition open, signaling the start of three days of intense yet inspiring competition among the region’s best skilled talents.

As competitors take center stage, the Regional Skills Olympics serves as a platform to showcase technical excellence, creativity, and the world-class competencies of Central Visayas.
