The presentation was delivered by ๐ ๐๐ก๐ฅ ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ป๐ฃ. ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ, highlighting Maragusanโs experience in aligning the Local Protection and Conservation Area (LPCA) with ICCA governance, and the importance of strengthening collaboration among local government, Indigenous Peoples, and other conservation partners.
The initiative is made stronger through the continued support and commitment of ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐. ๐๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฟ., whose leadership continues to encourage the LGUโs efforts toward biodiversity conservation, protection of natural resources, and meaningful partnership with Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
The meaningful gathering brought together participants from Region XI and Region XIII, with the presence of Representatives from NCIP, Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs), Local Government Units (LGUs), Davao Oriental State University, Philippine Eagle Foundation and ICCs/IPs from both regions. Their participation provided a valuable platform for sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and strengthening collective efforts toward inclusive and community-based biodiversity conservation.
The activity was graced by ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง ๐. ๐ฝ๐๐ก๐ก๐ค๐ฃ๐๐จ, ๐๐๐, ARED for Technical Services, DENR XI, who delivered the welcome remarks and message. ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐
๐๐๐ฃ ๐พ๐๐ก๐๐๐, National Project Manager of the Biodiversity Corridor (BDCor) Project, also shared a message emphasizing the importance of partnerships and collaboration in achieving effective biodiversity conservation.
With strong local leadership and meaningful partnerships, Maragusan continues to share, learn, and work together toward the protection of its forests, biodiversity, and ancestral lands.
