Tulong Kabataan - Camarines Norte, together with Kabataan Partylist, KARATULA, Social Science Club - CNSC Abano, and Main Campus Student Council (MCSC) - CNSC, will be having HIMIG MAKABAYAN: Benefit Concert for the Lumad and Typhoon Lando Victims on November 30, 2015, 7pm at Daet Elevated Plaza.

Tickets are available for P20 (Early Bird), P30 (Gen. Admission) and P100 (VIP). Donations such as food, medicines and school supplies are also accepted during the event. Proceeds will be sent to displaced Lumad communities in Mindanao, and victims of Typhoon Lando in Central and Northern Luzon.

“The Aquino government doesn’t want to resolve the country’s need for domestic jobs so it enforced K to 12 to stimulate competition for employment leading to the depression of wages, and to project an illusion of global competitiveness which is basically cheap labor export,” said Bañez.

The K to 12 program also caters to ASEAN integration, intending to provide a steady supply of semi-skilled laborers ready to work outside the country.

“K to 12 turns the education system into a huge factory that creates products out of the Filipino students, marking them as ‘ready for export’ when they finally complete the program,” she said

Youth groups hit the government's insistence on haphazardly implementing the K to 12 program, as a former Kabataan party-list representative warned that an utter preparedness for its consequences was sabotaging the scheme's best intent and would mire the government in failure.
