The entire Province of Pangasinan has officially been placed under a State of Calamity pursuant to Provincial Resolution No. 985-2026, effective August 31, 2026.

As a result, a mandatory 60-day Price Freeze on covered Basic Necessities is being implemented to maintain prevailing prices and protect consumers during this time of calamity.

🛒 For retailers, distributors, and manufacturers:
Maintain the prevailing prices of covered basic necessities in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

👥 For consumers:
Be vigilant about prices, know your rights, and report any suspected unreasonable price increases to the appropriate government agency.

💙 During times of calamity, consumers are protected.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan conducted a learning session entitled “Unlocking Entrepreneurial Potential and ILO’s AI for MSMEs - AI Risk, Mitigation Measures and Ethical Use” under the “Mag Negosyo Ta Day” Program of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) – Pangasinan Satellite Office on August 27, 2026, at the OVP Pangasinan Satellite Office.

DTI Pangasinan staff served as resource persons and shared valuable insights on Unlocking Entrepreneurial Potential and ILO’s AI for MSMEs, highlighting the importance of an entrepreneurial mindset, innovation, and the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in improving business operations.

The seminar was attended by 10 micro-entrepreneurs, who gained practical knowledge and ideas that can help them navigate business challenges, explore new opportunities, and leverage digital tools to enhance their enterprises.

Through knowledge-sharing and capacity-building activities, DTI Pangasinan continues to empower MSMEs and strengthen their capabilities toward more innovative, competitive, and sustainable businesses.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan participated in the 2026 OFW Welfare, Health, and Membership Serbisyo Caravan in Region 1, held at the Ramon J. Guico Sr. Sports and Civic Center in Binalonan, Pangasinan.

The caravan brings together government agencies and partner organizations to provide accessible services, information, and assistance to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

Through its participation, DTI Pangasinan contributes to the delivery of programs and services that support OFWs and their families, including opportunities for entrepreneurship, livelihood, and business development.

DTI Pangasinan remains committed to working with partner agencies in bringing responsive government services closer to the people and creating opportunities that empower OFWs and their families toward sustainable livelihoods.

Our participating Pangasinan MSME proudly showcases innovative and quality products that incorporate coconut as a key ingredient or material, highlighting the creativity, resourcefulness, and entrepreneurial spirit of our local businesses.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan participated in the Council Management Training for Secretariat, initiated by DTI Regional Office I, conducted on August 25, 2026, through a hybrid setup.

The training featured resource speakers from the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), who shared valuable insights and knowledge on effective council management, secretariat functions, coordination, and support to development councils.

The activity provided an opportunity for DTI personnel to strengthen their competencies and enhance their role in supporting effective council operations and inter-agency collaboration.

DTI Pangasinan remains committed to continuous learning and capacity-building initiatives that contribute to more effective, responsive, and development-oriented public service.

As part of the ongoing Strengthening Institutions and Empowering Localities Against Disasters and Climate Change (SHIELD) Program in Pangasinan, supported by the Australian Government and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Philippines, together with its consortium partners and government partners, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan participated in the Value Chain Analysis (VCA) Workshop for Salt organized by DILG Pangasinan and the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) on August 24–27, 2026, at the Venus Parkview Hotel, Baguio City.

The workshop brought together key provincial stakeholders to validate value chain findings, identify challenges and opportunities, and develop strategies to strengthen the resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability of Pangasinan’s salt industry.

DTI Pangasinan’s participation highlights its continued commitment to supporting local salt producers and stakeholders through collaborative interventions, value chain development, and climate-resilient strategies that can contribute to a stronger and more sustainable salt industry in the province.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan facilitated the validation and visitation of selected Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Pangasinan conducted by Sir Vener Valerio, Project Manager of Catalyste+, as part of the Economic Linkages for Enhanced Value Trade and Export (ELEVaTE) Project of Catalyste+ Canada.

The activity included visits to Mama Cili in Anda; Juris Bay Foods and Eldica Seafood Processing in Dagupan City; and Dimalupig and Gabrielle Food Products Trading in Pozorrubio.

The on-site visits provided an opportunity to gain insights into the enterprises’ operations, products, business processes, and current needs while engaging with the business owners to identify potential areas for support and development under the ELEVaTE Project.

The validation also explored opportunities for capacity development, process improvement, and business growth, with the aim of better understanding the enterprises’ needs and potential for further development.

The activity provided a meaningful avenue for knowledge exchange and for exploring opportunities that can help local SMEs strengthen their capabilities and competitiveness.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangasinan, through its Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), supported the participation of Pangasinan MSMEs and Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) including Bantog Samahang Nayon MPC, Sugarcane & Beyond, and Ilokana Handicrafts at Agribusiness Connect 3 held on August 8, 2026, at Elements at Centris, Quezon City.

The participating enterprises proudly showcased their locally made products, gaining valuable opportunities to connect with fellow agribusiness stakeholders, promote their brands, and explore potential markets and partnerships.

Organized by renowned agribusiness content creator Buddy Gancenia, the event brought together entrepreneurs, farmers, organizations, and industry stakeholders in a dynamic platform for linking, learning, and collaborating toward a stronger and more competitive Philippine agribusiness sector.
