Kapin 40 ka mga drivers, operators ug operator-drivers ang mipailalom sa maong training, nga gipahigayon ilalom sa SDP sa Davao Bus Project. Ang maong programa gimugna para sa apektadong indibidwal sa Davao Public Transport Modernization Program, kun DPTMP.

6,000+ 𝐏𝐔𝐉 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐔𝐆 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐍𝐀 𝐓𝐀!

Sukad pa sa tuig 2024, padayon ang pagpatuman sa Social Preparation Training sa Davao Bus Project Office sa City Government of Davao para sa mga jeepney driver, operator, ug mga trabahante sa transport cooperatives nga mahimong maapektuhan sa implementasyon sa Davao Bus Project.

Sobra 6,000 na ka partisipante ang nakatambong sa maong training sukad kini gisugdan. Kapin 4,000 niini ang mga driver, samtang kapin 2,000 ang mga operator. Apil usab sa mga nitambong ang mga allied workers gikan sa lain-laing transport cooperatives.

Ang Social Preparation Training kabahin sa mga lakang sa Social Development Program (SDP) aron maandam ug masuportahan ang mga sakop sa PUJ sector atol sa pagbalhin ngadto sa mas moderno ug episyenteng sistema sa pampublikong transportasyon.

𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘

The City Government of Davao, through the Davao Public Transport Modernization Project (DPTMP) and the Office of the City Building Official, is reinforcing the implementation of a Continuous Footpath Policy and stricter regulation of driveway access along major roads to improve traffic flow and ensure pedestrian safety.

The initiative comes in response to increasing traffic congestion caused by multiple driveway access points along key road corridors, which often lead to unsafe turning movements, traffic delays, and conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians.

In preparation for the implementation of the DPTMP, developments along major roads will be encouraged to provide adequate and continuous sidewalk space and may be limited to a single ingress and egress point, particularly along corridors covered by routes under the public transport modernization program.

These measures are consistent with Section 707.4 of the National Building Code of the Philippines, which discourages direct access from parking or loading areas to the road right-of-way to prevent public roads from being used as maneuvering areas and to promote safer traffic movement.

The City Government of Davao emphasizes that proper implementation of these policies will help reduce traffic conflict points, improve pedestrian satety, and support a more efficient and organized transport system in Davao City.
