Resumption of All Water-Related Activities
ADVISORY GIKAN SA MDRRMC DEL CARMEN

Good news, Del Carmenons! Based on the thorough monitoring and assessment by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), we are officially announcing the resumption of all water-related activities within the municipality, effective today, October 17, 2025.

This follows the temporary halt due to the recent earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.

Samtang mobalik na ta sa atong mga kalihukan sa tubig, atong hinumduman nga magpabiling mabinantayon (vigilant), kanunayng buhaton ang mga safety precautions, ug padayon nga mag-andam. Mag-pabilin nga updated pinaagi sa pag-monitor sa mga advisory gikan sa otorisadong ahensya

Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS) Inc. is a non-profit, Davao-based non government environmental organization committed to protecting, preserving, and managing life-sustaining watersheds from ridge to reef, and promotes sustainable urban transformation in Metro Davao and Koronadal.

As an environmental NGO based in Davao City, IDIS champions sustainable urban transformation and good environmental governance. Together with our partner, Espoir School of Life, we are organizing a learning trip to Siargao to learn from model initiatives that integrate ecological protection with community development.

🚨 Earthquake Advisory: Class and Water Activity Suspension in Del Carmen 🚨

Following the Magnitude 6.2 earthquake that struck General Luna, Siargao Island, as reported by PHIVOLCS, with aftershocks felt across various municipalities, including Del Carmen (reporting Intensity IV - moderate to strong ground shaking):

Effective Immediately and until further notice:

CLASSES at all levels, both public and private, are SUSPENDED.

All WATER-RELATED ACTIVITIES are temporarily suspended as a precautionary safety measure, pending further assessment.

We urge everyone to remain calm and vigilant and strictly follow all safety protocols.

Barangay DRRM Committees, School Heads, and concerned agencies are directed to maintain close coordination with the MDRRMO for continuous monitoring, assessment, and response actions regarding any further incidents or aftershocks.
