Preparedness extends beyond emergency responseโit begins with continuous training and a well-maintained fire station.
As part of the Bureau of Fire Protection's commitment to maintaining a highly capable and operationally ready workforce, personnel of Diffun Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Gilbert P Mauricio, conducted a Medical First Responder (MFR) Drill focusing on patient packaging and spine board strapping. The activity enhanced the firefighters' competency in proper patient assessment, spinal immobilization, secure strapping techniques, and safe patient transport during emergency medical incidents while reinforcing teamwork, coordination, and adherence to established emergency medical response protocols.
Following the drill, personnel carried out station housekeeping, ensuring that work areas, response equipment, and station facilities were clean, organized, and ready for immediate deployment. Maintaining a clean and orderly fire station reflects discipline, professionalism, and operational efficiency, enabling firefighters to respond effectively whenever emergencies arise.
