Successful Free Legal Services Conducted in the Municipality of Loreto on August 20, 2026, the second day of CARAVAN!

The Provincial Legal Office (PLO), through the Remedy sa Hustisya Program, under the leadership of Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr., MPM, successfully conducted a free legal service to the community of the Municipality of Loreto by our active Provincial Legal Officer and Attorneys.

Free legal consultations and notarial services were provided to the residents particularly to those seeking assistance regarding their legal concerns and needs.

The legal services included assistance in the preparation and notarization of various legal documents, such as Affidavit of Discrepancy and Oneness, Affidavit of Out-of-Town Registration of Birth (Delayed Registration of Birth), Affidavit of Non-Employment, and other legal documents, and free legal consultation in relation to land dispute.

The Provincial Legal Office (PLO), through the Remedy sa Hustisya Program and under the leadership of Governor Nilo P. Demerey Jr., MPM, successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Capacity Building at the Maximo Gymnasium, LGU Carmen, Loreto, Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI).

Lectures were delivered to residents of the municipality covering various legal topics, including the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended by R.A. 10364 and R.A. 11862; Anti R**e Law of 1997 (RA 8353); the Anti-Child Marriage Act; and the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018 (R.A. 11053). The activity’s success was also made possible through the active participation and dedication of Assistant Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Ritchel S. Catani, Atty. Den Krystian C. Basadre-Attorney III, Atty. Christine Jill S. Castro-Legal Officer, and the special participation of Provincial Prosecutor Pros. Irwin Ariel D. Miel.

The lectures aimed to provide the community with additional knowledge and awareness on various legal matters. The activity was likewise successful, as barangay participants actively engaged in the discussions.

Upon the order of Gov. Nilo P. Demerey Jr., through the Provincial Legal Office, has commenced an investigation into the social media post circulating online regarding the alleged vandalism of the Hagakhak Rock Formation .

The Provincial Government unequivocally condemns any act that damages, defaces, or degrades the Province’s natural heritage and tourism destinations. Such acts are contrary to the Province’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainable tourism and will not be tolerated.

Should the investigation establish that violations have been committed, the persons responsible shall be dealt with in accordance with existing laws and applicable provincial ordinances.

We likewise remind all visitors, tourists, and stakeholders to respect and preserve our natural attractions. Let this incident serve as a reminder that our shared responsibility to protect the environment is essential in ensuring that these treasures remain for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.

The Provincial Government remains steadfast in safeguarding the Province’s natural heritage and will continue to take appropriate measures to protect its environment and tourism resources.
