Last November 30 to December 1, 2023, an ORIENTATION ON THE ACCREDITATION OF COMMUNITY DISASTER VOLUNTEERS was conducted at the DepEd Training Center, Miputak, Dipolog City. The event was successfully facilitated by the Office of the Civil Defense IX thru the Dipolog City Risk Reduction and Management Office, with Mr. Al-Emran A. Asani, the Deputy Chief Operations Section of OCD IX as the resource speaker.

During the 2-day orientation, participants were immersed in comprehensive discussions aimed at equipping community volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively respond during times of disaster.

The activity is also in line with the celebration of the National Volunteer Month wherein no less than the Executive Director of the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), Hon. Donald James D. Gawe, and its key officials made a courtesy visit to the Dipolog Listo Center to explore potential collaboration for ACDVs and other volunteerism initiatives.

Let us all thank and recognize these dedicated volunteers who are committed to making a difference in our community. Their selfless dedication will undoubtedly play a vital role in safeguarding the lives of each and every citizen during times of crisis
