DAGUPAN CITY — Newly appointed Regional Director of DepEd-Region 1 Dr. Estela Leon-Cariño toured Dagupan City National High School along with Assistant Regional Director Rhoda T. Razon and Human Resource Development Chief Dinah C. Bonao.

The school principal Dr. W***y Guieb together with District 9 Public Schools Supervisor Dr. Edgar T. Timbol welcomed warmly the RO top officials.

RD Leon-Cariño lauded the school’s efforts to deliver optimal learning environments and inclusive programs after shortly witnessing the Kabuntatala Culminating show, visiting the school library and Angara Gym all.

This effort by the regional office to visit the institution is an effort to assess the implementation of educational programs and develop connections with schools.

With pride and unwavering excellence, Dagupan City National High School rises as the 2026 Division Schools Press Conference CHAMPION, led by the remarkable force of The Dagupeñan Sparks. This victory stands as a testament to discipline, creativity, teamwork, and the relentless pursuit of journalistic excellence.

Every team member contributed their best: from in-depth feature articles that captured real stories, to editorials that expressed clear, insightful opinions, to SciTech articles that made complex topics easy to understand. News reports provided accurate information with timely delivery, which complemented the sports coverage that showed both teamwork and determination.

While layouts and page designs created visually appealing pages through their clean, balanced design. The DCNHS team displayed their dedication through every page and article, which showed their commitment to their work and their school.

The Dagupeñan Sparks and Sinag emerged victorious in the Division Schools Press Conference 2026 held February 9–11 at St. John’s Cathedral School, Inc., clinching the coveted title of Overall Champion in both Secondary English and Filipino categories.

The publications secured overall Best School Paper in English and Filipino, alongside multiple first‑place finishes in Editorial, Feature, Sports, SciTech, Layout and Design, Radio, TV, Mobile, and Online Publishing contests.

Individual excellence also shone brightly: Aldrey B. De Vera was named Most Outstanding Campus Journalist, while Dr. Dennis A. Solis received the distinction of Most Outstanding School Paper Adviser.

This sweeping victory underscores the team’s commitment to journalistic excellence, creativity, and integrity—solidifying Dagupenan Sparks and Sinag's reputation as a leading force in campus journalism.

ANNOUNCEMENT | EARLY REGISTRATION 2026

Dagupan City National High School officially opens its Early Registration for School Year 2026–2027 on January 31 to February 27, 2026.

We are now accepting incoming Grade 7 and incoming Grade 11 learners who wish to pursue quality secondary education at DCNHS.

With its long-standing commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and holistic learner development, DCNHS continues to be a school of choice for families in Dagupan City and beyond.
