The Municipal Nutrition Office of Don Carlos, through Municipal Nutrition Staff Ms. Sheila L. Torrefiel, RND and March Sigrid P. Saburnido, LPT, together with NDDP Liezel Joy D. Reyes, RND, successfully carried out the final day of the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM) Monitoring and Validation last May 21, 2026, in Barangay Pualas and Barangay Cabadiangan.
This initiative ensured the proper reassessment and documentation of children diagnosed with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), while strengthening the delivery of appropriate interventions, continuous monitoring, and community-based support to improve their overall nutritional status.

The Municipal Nutrition Office of Don Carlos, through Municipal Nutrition Staff Ms. Sheila L. Torrefiel, RND and March Sigrid P. Saburnido, LPT, together with NDDP Liezel Joy D. Reyes, RND, successfully carried out the third batch of the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM) Monitoring and Validation on May 20, 2026, in Barangay Kalubihon, Barangay Kawilihan, and Barangay Mauswagon.

This activity focused on the continuous verification and follow-up of children identified with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM), with the goal of providing timely nutrition support, monitoring their progress, and ensuring that proper care and interventions are consistently given within the community.

The Don Carlos Municipal Nutrition Office, together with the Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), held their monthly meeting to discuss key updates and priority programs in strengthening local nutrition services. The agenda included new BNS and honorarium updates, monthly BNS reports and Barangay Nutrition Action Plan (BNAP), and the 2026 First Round Operation Timbang Plus (OPT Plus) Versions 1 and 2.

The group also received the BNS Federation Presidentโ€™s Report, shared updates on the Supplementary Feeding Program including fresh milk and milky bun distribution, and discussed the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM) to further strengthen efforts in addressing child malnutrition cases within the municipality.

Together, working towards stronger nutrition governance and community wellness.

The LGU Don Carlos held its MELLPI Pro Results Exit Conference on April 30, 2026, at the Peopleโ€™s Hall, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.
The activity highlights the monitoring and evaluation of the Local Level Plan Implementation Protocol, ensuring that programs and services are delivered efficiently for the community.

The activity was led by the Provincial Nutrition Evaluation Team (PNET). It also covered the monitoring of compliance with important national nutrition policies in selected establishments, including Executive Order No. 51 (Milk Code), the Food Fortification Law, and the ASIN Law, to ensure that regulatory standards supporting public health and nutrition are properly followed

In addition, the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI) Protocol for 2026 for the Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) of San Francisco was conducted on April 30, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Barangay Hall in San Francisco, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.

These efforts highlight the commitment of the local government and stakeholders to continuously strengthen nutrition programs, ensuring better service delivery, sustained success, and improved health outcomes for the community.
