Dumanjug and Ronda Work Together to Clarify Barangay Boundaries for Future Census

The Local Government Units (LGUs) of Dumanjug and Ronda, together with concerned barangay captains, held a meeting to discuss and address boundary concerns between the two municipalities in preparation for future census and data-gathering activities.

Personnel from the Philippine Statistics Authority facilitated the discussion between the two municipalities and the concerned barangays.

Findings from previous censuses showed that some households in several barangays of Dumanjug and Ronda were recorded under overlapping or unclear barangay boundaries.

Clarifying these boundaries is important because accurate boundaries help ensure that households are properly identified and counted in future censuses and surveys.

Clear records will help prevent households from being counted in the wrong area or being recorded more than once.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of coordination between the two municipalities and their barangays in maintaining accurate population and household data.

Reliable census and survey information will support better planning and decision-making for both LGUs.

With this data, the Philippine Statistics Authority ( ) empowers local and national leaders to make decisions with clarity, purpose, and inclusivity.

The conduct of the workshop reflects the commitment of Mayor Gungun Gica to building a safer and more resilient Dumanjug.

Recognizing the increasing impacts of climate change and natural hazards, Mayor Gungun Gica strongly supported the training to strengthen the capacity of the municipality in disaster preparedness and long-term planning.

By applying the knowledge and strategies gained from the workshop, the municipality can make more informed decisions that help protect lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure from future disasters.

The Municipality of Dumanjug conducted an ocular site inspection on June 26 in Barangays Tubod-Dugoan and Kanghalo by the staff of the Municipal Tourism Office and the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO).

They were accompanied by the Mayorโ€™s Tourism Advisor, Mr. Ondo Pasuit, and barangay officials of Barangay Tubod-Bitoon to check areas that may be developed as tourism spots.

The inspection also looked into the possible source of a waterfall in Barangay Kanghalo.

Based on the visit, a spring in Barangay Tubod-Dugoan may be one of the sources of water flowing to the waterfall.

The activity is part of the effort to find and record natural attractions that can help promote local tourism.

If properly planned and protected, the spring and waterfall may support eco-tourism, environmental awareness, and livelihood opportunities for nearby residents.

The inspection showed that more study is needed before the area can be opened or promoted to visitors.

This includes checking access to the site, the water source, safety concerns, environmental conditions, and possible improvements needed in the area.

Officials and concerned stakeholders are expected to continue working with the barangays to confirm the connection between the spring and the waterfall and to plan how the area can be conserved and promoted responsibly.
