The Provincial Engineering Office, together with the Municipal Engineering Office, conducted the initial site assessment for the proposed Construction of Brgy. 1 Plaza Covered Court, Talisay Covered Court and BCES Covered Court Extension, each with a proposed budget of โ‚ฑ10 million funded by the Provincial Government.

These projects are expected to be implemented next year, bringing improved facilities and better venues for sports, youth development and community activities.

Our sincere gratitude to Gov. RV Evardone for approving the requests and for his continued support to our municipality. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to BM Christelle Yadao for endorsing the BCES Covered Court Extension to the Office of the Governor as part of the BCES Alumni projects.

Today marks another significant milestone in the municipality as we officially held the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Improvement of Bangonโ€“Caisawan Road Project.

The ceremony was graced by DILG Regional Director Arnel M. Agabe, DILG Provincial Director Engr. Jesus Jeremy D. Bagares, Mayor Allan Contado, Vice Mayor Edith Anne Contado, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, barangay officials, and other stakeholders who joined in celebrating the start of this vital infrastructure project.

Funded through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF-GEF), the improvement project will concrete the remaining unpaved section of the Bangonโ€“Cantubiโ€“Caisawan road network, completing one of the Municipality's key road improvement projects.

The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) successfully conducted the Public Scoping Activity for the proposed Llorente-Balangkayan Irrigation Project of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Process.

The activity brought together farmer-beneficiaries and stakeholders from the municipalities of Llorente, Balangkayan, and Maydolong, providing a venue to present the proposed project, discuss its potential environmental and social impacts, and gather comments, concerns, and recommendations from the affected communities and stakeholders.

Among those in attendance were Vice Mayor Edith Ann Contado, representing the Local Government Unit of Balangkayan, and Mayor Louie Borja, representing the Local Government Unit of Maydolong, together with representatives from national government agencies, local government units, barangays, farmers' organizations, and other key stakeholders.

Once approved, the proposed irrigation project is expected to cover approximately 1,500 hectares of service area and benefit at least 600 farmers, significantly enhancing agricultural productivity, strengthening food security, and supporting sustainable rural development in the three municipalities.
