The Schools Division Office of Escalante City proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of "RANIR" during the 1st Negros Island Region PEACE Short Film Production Awarding Ceremony held on May 5, 2026 at Negros Oriental Convention Center, Dumaguete City, where it garnered six major awards among 20 Schools Division Offices:
π Special Citation Award in Narrative Innovation
π Best Screenplay/Story
π Best Director β Ana Erica Avancena (ENHS)
π Best Actor β Raingh Caleb Barsabal (Japitan NHS)
π Best Picture β 1st Runner-Up
π Inclusive Storytelling Award
The film also received nominations for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Cinematography.
Adding to this remarkable milestone, "RANIR" was selected as one of only seven (7) short films nationwide officially endorsed by the Department of Education Central Office through DepEd Advisory No. 133, s. 2026. The film will now serve as an educational resource supporting peace education, learner well-being, guidance, and anti-bullying programs in schools across the country.
This achievement reflects the creativity, passion, and collaboration of our filmmakers, learners, teachers, and school heads, as well as the unwavering commitment of the Schools Division Office of Escalante City in advancing the PEACE (Powering Empathy, Acceptance, and Connection Every Day) Advocacy.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supportive Executive Committee, led by our Schools Division Superintendent, Sir Peter J. Galimba; Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Doc. Marites C. Capilitan; CID Chief, Doc. Ivy Joy A. Torres; and SGOD Chief, Doc. Alicia A. Olid, for their invaluable guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support throughout this journey.
