2. Candidates shall submit two (2) legible copies within the announced official filing period, August 19-26, 2026.

3. The Certificate of Registration (COR) must indicate that the candidate is officially enrolled as a First Year student in the Mindanao State University – College of Law for the Academic Year 2026-2027.

4. The candidate shall personally scan and submit the documentary requirements mentioned above in PDF format to the official COMELEC email address, [email protected],using his/her MSU institutional email account.

COMELEC UPDATE | LEXSTART 2026

The MSU College of Law at MSU General Santos Commission on Elections (COMELEC) participated in LEXSTART 2026, the Freshmen Orientation held on 15 August 2026 at the MSU-GSC Library AVR, where the Commission introduced itself to the incoming first-year students and discussed the upcoming election for their First Year Representative.

During the orientation, Deputy Chairperson Mariz Plomillo and Commissioner on Public Information Mohminin Katug introduced the Commission and presented the Election Guidelines for the First Year Representative, covering the functions of the position, qualifications of candidates, filing of candidacy, campaign rules, voting procedures, counting of votes, proclamation, and election-related complaints.

The presentation also gave the freshmen an early look at how the upcoming election for their First Year Representative will be conducted under the supervision of the COMELEC.

The freshmen were likewise introduced to the roster of COMELEC Commissioners for Academic Year 2026–2027: Nelle Dominique Deximo, Chairperson; Mariz Plomillo, Deputy Chairperson; Hannah Gabrielle Lutero, Commissioner on Records; Mary Lyndl Therese MiΓ±oza, Commissioner on Finance; Michael Thomas Anceno, Commissioner on Audit; and Mohminin Katug, Commissioner on Public Information.

The COMELEC also assisted the Supreme Student Council (SSC) during the conduct of LEXSTART. Also present during the activity were COMELEC Chairperson Nelle Dominique Deximo and Commissioner on Records Hannah Gabrielle Lutero.

We’re glad to have had the chance to meet our new fellow law students, and we look forward to seeing the first-year batch take part in their upcoming election.

The MSU College of Law at MSU General Santos City Commission on Elections formally announces the appointment of Hannah Gabrielle Lutero and Mohminin Katug as Commissioners of the Commission on Elections, effective 03 August 2026.

Following a thorough evaluation of qualifications and interviews, the newly appointed Commissioners are entrusted to uphold the principles of impartiality, integrity, accountability, and transparency in the conduct of electoral processes within the College.

On 2 August 2026, the Commission on Elections of MSU College of Law at MSU General Santos conducted its First Semester Planning Session for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The Commission discussed its financial status, designated committee roles and responsibilities, finalized the proposed first semester election schedule, and identified priority initiatives for the semester.

Today’s electoral process was conducted in an orderly, peaceful, and transparent manner, guided by the established Election Guidelines and under the supervision of the Commission on Elections.

Out of 450 qualified voters, a total of 312 students actively participated by casting their votes. This turnout stands as a testament to the growing commitment of the student body to engage in democratic processes within the College of Law.

From the President to the Year Representatives, each elected officer now carries the responsibility to serve, represent, and lead with integrity and dedication. This marks the beginning of a new chapterβ€”one anchored in leadership, advocacy, and unity.
