On the 37th Regular Session of the 21st Sangguniang Panlungsod, a formal inquiry was raised regarding the current status of Resolution No. 336, Series of 2026, which seeks to revoke Resolution No. 849, Series of 2019 concerning the proposed PAGCOR facility within Robinsons Place General Santos.

This inquiry is made not to promote any particular position, but to ensure that accurate information is available to the public and that transparency in governance is upheld.

In line with the opening of Brigada Eskwela, my office conducted Libreng Gupit (Free Haircut) Services for the students of San Isidro High School of Agrifisheries and Buayan National High School.

As we prepare for another school year, we believe that even simple acts of service can help boost the confidence and readiness of our learners as they return to the classroom. This initiative is our small way of supporting our students and their families while promoting the spirit of volunteerism and community partnership that Brigada Eskwela embodies.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed their time and effort to make this activity possible. Together, let us continue working to ensure that our schools are ready and our students are equipped for a productive and successful academic year.

Eid al-Adha Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers and sisters.

This blessed occasion reminds us of the importance of faith, sacrifice, compassion, and obedience —values that continue to unite our diverse communities here in our beloved city.

May this Eid bring warmth to every home, healing to every heart, and renewed strength to continue doing good for one another.

May Allah’s blessings be upon you and your families always.

Honored to attend the Turnover of Office Ceremony of the General Santos City Police Office held at Camp Fermin G. Lira Jr., welcoming PCOL Eric R. De Venancio as Incoming City Director and recognizing the service and leadership of PCOL Nicomedes P. Olaivar Jr. as Outgoing City Director, under the presiding leadership of PBGEN Alan B. Manibog, Acting Regional Director of PRO 12.

Also present during the occasion were former Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao, PBGEN Melvin Napiloy, DRDA, PRO12; PCOL Harold Ramos, CRS, PRO12; all Chiefs of Police (COPs), PNP personnel, and Ptr. Fable Obello, whose presence reflected the unity and commitment of our law enforcement community in serving and protecting our people.

During the program, I shared from Jeremiah 14:9-10, reminding everyone that true leadership and service must always be rooted in compassion, integrity, and genuine concern for the people. This message closely reflects the vision and tagline of our City Mayor: “SERBISYONG TOTOO, SERBISYONG GALING SA PUSO.”

As we continue to work together for peace, order, and public safety, may we always be guided by service that is sincere, accountable, and centered on the welfare of every citizen of General Santos City.

Glad to join the General Assembly and Oath taking of the 5th Batch of New Members of the LUPAD Gensan Transport and Workers Association, led by President and Founder Mr. EDSAN BALOFIÑOS, where I had the opportunity to lead the oath-taking ceremony.

It is inspiring to see the organization continue serving its members through various programs and services, especially through partners like Labella Hospital and others.

Also grateful for the presence of Congresswoman Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles, whose support strengthens our shared commitment to uplifting our transport and workers’ sector.

Congratulations to all newly inducted members. May you continue to serve with unity and purpose for a stronger Gensan.

At the 36th regular session of the 21st Sangguniang Panlungsod, I availed of the Question and Answer Hour to give way for Mr. Raffy Piamonte and Dr. Karl Igrobay of the City Health Office to address concerns and provide important information regarding the high heat index currently being experienced in our city.

Likewise, I was honored to invite the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) to inform the august body regarding their upcoming 41st National Convention. Present in the gallery were AUX COMMODORE Mr. Roy P. Salud, Director of the Auxiliary District Southern Mindanao of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary; ENS. Crystal Ebrona-Amigo, PCG D-7 Public Relations Officer; AUX COMMODORE Arwin Ardon, Consultant for the National Convention of PCGA; Lieutenant Commander Roy Inso; and Lieutenant Junior Grade Reno Bandala.

In support of this significant gathering, I also sponsored a resolution expressing the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod for the 41st National Convention of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.

With deep sorrow, I paid my respects and offered prayers for the eternal repose of Br. Crispin Paez Betita Jr., F.M.S., who peacefully joined our Creator on May 13, 2026, at the age of 83.

Br. Crispin lived a life of humble service, faith, and compassion. As a dedicated Marist Brother, he devoted decades of his life to education, youth formation, and service to the most vulnerable. He was widely remembered as a former academic leader and as the founding force behind the Marcellin Foundation, whose mission transformed countless lives, especially children and young people in need across General Santos and the SOCCSKSARGEN region. His lifelong witness to Christian service and his more than six decades of religious vocation have left an enduring legacy in our community and beyond.

General Santos City has lost a faithful servant, mentor, and advocate for the young. Yet his example of love, sacrifice, and servant leadership will continue to inspire generations.

Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go to his Marist family, loved ones, colleagues, and all whose lives he touched.
Rest in the loving embrace of the Lord, Br. Crispin.
Your mission lives on.
