RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - 234 & 235
CONFERRING POSTHUMOUS RECOGNITION OF HON. ERNESTO ALQUIZOLA REYES FOR
EXEMPLARY PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE CITY
OF GUIHULNGAN, NEGROS ORIENTAL and
IN RECOGNITION OF THE VALUABLE SERVICES OF HONORABLE ERNESTO ALQUIZOLA REYES, "DADDY," "DODONG," "SIR/MAYOR ERNESTO," had dutifully served the Municipality/City of Guihulngan as a true public servant in various capacities, to wit:
1. 1959 - Barangay Lieutenant
2. 1963 - Re-elected Barangay Lieutenant
3. 1967 - Elected No. 1 Municipal Councilor
4. 1969 - By succession became Municipal Vice
Mayor
5. 1971 - 1975 - Municipal Vice Mayor
6. 1976-1979 - Municipal Councilor
7. 1980 -1983 - Municipal Vice Mayor
8. 1984 - 1986 (March 7) - Municipal Mayor
9. 1988 - 1998 - Elected Municipal Mayor
10. 1998 - 2004 - Elected Municipal Vice Mayor
11. 2004 - 2007 - Elected Municipal Mayor
12. July 14, 2007 - 2013 - 1st City Mayor when Guihulngan became a City by virtue of R.A. 9409 and the Plebiscite held on July 14, 2007
13. 2013-2022 - Elected City Vice Mayor
14. 2022-2025 - Elected No. 1 City Councilor
His life and legacy will always be remembered.
