The BOSH for SO1 is an 8-hour occupational safety & health orientation plus Training of Trainers designed to impart knowledge & skills on basic concepts & principles of OSH to enable potential safety officers to implement their company's OSH program.

PAY RULES FOR REGULAR HOLIDAYS AND SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY

Regional Director Atty. Sixto Popoy Rodriguez, Jr. reminds employers to observe payment of wages for the regular holidays on April 2 (Maundy Thursday), April 3 (Good Friday), and April 9 (Araw ng Kagitingan) and for the special (non-working) day on April 4, 2026 (Black Saturday) as per Labor Advisory No. 5, series of 2026.

Pursuant to Proclamation 1006, series of 2025, the following pay rules shall apply to ensure workers of their rightful wages for regular holidays and special non-working day:

๐Ÿ‘๐—™๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ด๐˜‚๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€ ๐—”๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—น ๐Ÿฎ,๐Ÿฏ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐Ÿต, the advisory states that employees who do not work are entitled to 100% of their daily wage, provided they report to work or are on approved leave of absence on the workday immediately preceding the regular holiday (๐—•๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐˜… ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ%).

๐Ÿ‘When the day immediately preceding the regular holiday is a non-working day in the establishment or the scheduled rest day of the employees, they shall be entitled to holiday pay if they worked or were on approved leave of absence with pay on the day immediately preceding the non-working day or rest day.

๐Ÿ‘Employees who render work during the regular holiday shall receive 200% of their daily wage for the first eight hours (๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐˜… ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ%).

๐Ÿ‘Should the employee perform work beyond eight hours, they shall be paid an additional 30% of the hourly rate for that day (๐—›๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜† ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐˜… ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ% ๐˜… ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฌ% ๐˜… ๐—ป๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ).

๐Ÿ‘If the regular holiday falls on the employeeโ€™s rest day and work is rendered, the employee shall be paid an additional 30% of the 200% basic wage (๐—•๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐˜… ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ% ๐˜… ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฌ%). Overtime work under the same conditions shall likewise be compensated with an additional 30% of the hourly rate on said day (๐‡๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐œ ๐ฐ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ% ๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ% ๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ% ๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค๐ž๐).

๐Ÿ‘๐…๐จ๐ซ ๐€๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ ๐Ÿ’ (๐๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ค ๐’๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐š๐ฒ), declared a special (non-working) day, the โ€œno work, no payโ€ principle shall apply unless a favorable company policy, practice, or collective bargaining agreement (CBA) grants payment on a special day.

๐Ÿ‘If an employee reports for work during the special day, the employee is entitled to an additional 30% of their basic wage for the first eight hours (๐๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐œ ๐ฐ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ%).

๐Ÿ‘Overtime work shall be paid an additional 30% of the hourly rate on said day (Hourly rate of the ๐๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐œ ๐ฐ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ%x130% x number of hours worked).

๐Ÿ‘Should the employee perform work on the special day that also falls on the employeeโ€™s rest day, the employer shall pay an additional 50% of the basic wage for the first eight hours of work (๐๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐œ ๐ฐ๐š๐ ๐ž ๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŽ%). Overtime work under the same condition shall likewise be compensated with an additional 30% of the hourly rate on said day (๐™ƒ๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™ก๐™ฎ ๐™ง๐™–๐™ฉ๐™š ๐™ค๐™› ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™—๐™–๐™จ๐™ž๐™˜ ๐™ฌ๐™–๐™œ๐™š ๐™ญ 150% ๐™ญ 130% ๐™ญ ๐™ฃ๐™ช๐™ข๐™—๐™š๐™ง ๐™ค๐™› ๐™๐™ค๐™ช๐™ง๐™จ ๐™ฌ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ ๐™š๐™™).
