A sense of joy and accomplishment filled the air in Pototan, Iloilo on January 12, 2026, as farmers from Guimaras received a prize decades in the making: their electronic land titles (e-titles).
Teary-eyed but with heart full of gratitude, 80-year-old ARB Beatriz Gabales of Sibunag, Guimaras expressed her utmost happiness during her speech upon receiving her individual title.
โAng lupa ay atin na! Patuloy nating bungkalin ang pag-asa!โ Gabales exclaimed, her voice full of pride. โMaraming salamat po sa mabilis na pagpapatupad ng reporma. Ang magsasakang Pilipino ay muling nakatayo nang may dangal.โ She added.
The ceremony was led by Sec. Conrado M. Estrella III covering ARBs from all of Region VI, many of whom have waited for their E-Titles. Such individual land titles gave them the security they needed, as well as the stability and independence to cultivate the land they finally call their own.
For Guimaras farmers, this means full ownership and control over their land, empowering them to plan, invest, and improve their farms without monetary obstacles.
As the sun set over the fields of Guimaras, the mood was one of celebration, gratitude, and renewed determination. For these farmers, the land is now truly theirs, and with it, the opportunity to cultivate both crops and hope.
