📌BAGONG PILIPINAS BARANGAY SCHOLARS
Who is eligible to be a scholar?
The program targets vulnerable students who meet the following criteria:
● Incoming fourth-year college student for SY 2026-2027.
● Must be from a vulnerable household or at risk of dropping out.
● Priority is given to families where no member has yet completed tertiary
education.
● The student must be a resident of the selecting Barangay.
(Note: Students studying in universities outside the city jurisdiction are still
eligible, provided they are residents of the barangay).
What if there are no 4th-year students in our barangay?
If no 4th-year students are available, the barangay may consider:
● Incoming 3rd-year college students.
● TESDA scholars with a national certificate.
● Students in 5th or 6th year, provided they are graduating in SY 2026-2027.
How much does each scholar receive?
Five (5) beneficiaries per barangay will receive PhP20,000 each, to serve as a
“finisher fund” to ensure they reach graduation.
What expenses are covered by the PhP20,000 assistance?
The barangay determines the specific use, but it must be for study-related expenses,
such as:
● Tuition and school fees.
● School supplies and books.
● Transportation and meal allowances.
● Other necessary school
