HAPPENING NOW | Regional Infrastructure Officer (RIO) III and Community Development Officer (CDO) II of DSWD KALAHI CIDSS Region VI conducted Final Inspection for Additional Financing Phase 2 sub-projects in the Municipality of Hinobaan today, May 3.

Headed by the Area/Municipal Coordinating Team and Community Volunteers, the Improvement of Farm-to-market road sub-projects in Brgys Talacagay and Alim were inspected to check their completion and compliance with environmental and social safety that were pointed out from the previous joint inspections.

“Im beyond grateful that the contractor, together with the Community volunteers of the barangays showed teamwork and collaborated to complete this sub-project for the community,” said CDO II Cleofe Nuñeza.

Additionally, RIO III and CDO II held an Initial punch listing of the Construction of Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility sub-project in Brgy. Pook prior to its completion on May 6.

Took part in the proceedings were representatives from Hinobaan Public Information Office, Mun. Planning and Development Office, Mun. Engineering Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Mun. Health Office, and respective barangay Officials.

Brgys Alim and Talacagay’s road sub-project were completed on April 13 and 19, respectively.

Hinobaan KALAHI Volunteers Development Association (HIKAVODA) conducts a clean-up drive as part of their scheduled Monthly milestones today, April 20, at various coastal areas of Brgy 1, Hinobaan.

More than just being at the forefront for Operations and Maintenance for all completed KALAHI CIDSS Sub-projects, this initiative was managed as part of their commitment to partaking in environmental protection.

HIKAVODA is a registered and duly recognized
association that aims for the sustainability of completed KALAHI sub-projects and is composed of various BDC-TWG Chairpersons and Operations and Maintenance Chair of all 13 barangays in Hinobaan spearheaded by their Chairman, Mr. Peter Fortugaleza.

The Regional Program Management Office conducts a Joint Inspection for the Sub-project implementation for Phase 2 of KALAHI CIDSS Additional Financing today, April 12.

The said inspection was administered to check the status and provide Technical Assistance for the ongoing implementation of the Improvement of Farm-to-Market Roads in Barangays Talacagay and Alim and the Construction of Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility in Brgy. Pook.

One of the concerns raised during the feedback was the strict compliance with the environment and social management planning - to mitigate or at least minimize the adverse effects of the sub-project on the community and the environment.

“We are here to check the ongoing sub-project implementation, but most importantly, we aim to ensure that no one is being afflicted by the sub-project, whether short-term or long-term,” said CDO Rainier.

With the presence of CDO III Thomas Ranier Gales, CDO III Andro Concepcion, RIO III Engr. Zenny Apresurado, CDO II Cleofe Nuñez, the Hinobaan Area/Municipal Coordinating Team, community volunteers, and officials of respective barangays, the Joint Inspection concluded as a success.

Moreover, additional discussions regarding site hazards, safety and health, participation of Indigenous People, and women participation were tackled.

Various staff from the Regional Program Management Office (RPMO) visited the Municipality of Hinobaan for KALAHI CIDSS NCDDP Additional Financing Phase 2 sub-project monitoring on April 11, 2023.

Spearheaded by CDO III Thomas Ranier Gales, the municipal visit was also graced by CDO III Andro Concepcion, CPO III Engr. Lyndon Bryan Kho, RIO III Engr. Zenny Villasis-Apresurado, CDO II Cleofe Nuñez, and PEO III John Karl Failogo.

Part of their 2-day visit includes Monitoring of three (3) ongoing sub-projects, checking of 10-folder filing systems, provision of Technical Assistance on the Preparation of documents for Second Tranche Request for Fund Release, and meeting with the community volunteers and barangay officials.

KALAHI CIDSS Hinobaan conducts Joint Inspection for the sub Projects, Improvement of Barangay Local Access Road at Purok Calachuchi, Brgy. Talacagay and Purok 3, Brgy. Alim on March 27.

Ushered by the KALAHI Municipal and Area Coordinating Teams, the said inspection was conducted prior to the Billing Request for the 60% physical accomplishment of the contractor FOUR SG Enterprises for both barangays Talacagay and Alim.

“I’m so glad that we all are here right now with the common goal of strict monitoring of our ongoing road construction to efficiently implement the road sub-project that our community deserves,” said AC Charmaine.

Present also during the site checking were the Contractor, representatives from the Mun. Engineering Office, respective Community Volunteers, and Barangay Officials.

“The contractor, together with the KALAHI staff and the barangay, must always work hand-in-hand to achieve better results and achieve milestones beyond expectations,” Mam Ofe added.

These road sub-projects are forecasted to be completed in the second week of April and are projected to serve a total of 2910 Households.

KALAHI CIDSS Hinobaan holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Proposed Sub Project, Construction of Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) at Demo Farms, Brgy Pook, Hinobaan, today, January 19.

This sub-project for the 2nd Phase of KALAHI CIDSS Additional Financing is a clustered proposition of five barangays namely, Brgy 1 Poblacion, Brgy 2 Poblacion, Brgy. Daug, Brgy. Bacuyangan, and Brgy Pook as the Leading Barangay.

Graced the event were Municipal Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias, Mun. Vice Mayor Jefre Encoy, SB Members Francisco Bilbao, Ryan Cardinal, Theodore Tubilleja, and Burke Gayomale, RPMO representative/Training Specialist Mr. Edison Germo, Various Municipal and Barangay Heads, Community Volunteers, Area and Municipal Coordinating Team, and Contractor FOUR SG Enterprises, represented by Mr. Spyro Guevarra.

“At last, we are here to break grounds to start the construction of the project we all worked hard for. This project is a symbol of hardwork, dedication, and love poured by everyone here today, especially the community volunteers,” said Mam Ofelia Tupas, Mun. Accountant/Mun. Area Coordinator.

The proposed TTMF consists of 8 Isolation Rooms, 2 Staff Rooms, 1 Birthing Facility, 1 Kitchen with Pantry, 1 doning Station, and 3-level doffing stations, with a Total Project Cost of Php 6,286,756.37.

“Hinobaan will always be a laboratory of Good Practices in Kalahi CIDSS program,” said Mr. Edison Germo.

KALAHI CIDSS NCDDP Hinobaan conducts payout for the beneficiaries of Cash For Work for Persons with disabilities in the Municipality, December 20.

The program, funded by Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB), disbursed 100% of the Grant or a total of 2,187,000 pesos for 810 PWD beneficiaries of Hinobaan.

For efficiency and convenience, three (3) payout centers were established, namely payout Center 1, located at Brgy 1 Covered Court (consists of Brgys Alim, Pook, San Rafael, talacagay, Bacuyangan, and Poblacion 1); Payout Center 2, located at Brgy 2 Covered Court (consists of brgys. 2 poblacion, Sangke, Culipapa, Bulwangan, Daug, Asia); and Payout Center 3 (Special payout center for Brgy. Damutan).

“Kami nga mga PWDs nalipay guid nga wala kami nalipatan sang KALAHI para mag ubra sa cash for work gani naga pasalamat gd kami kay bisan papano makabulig gid ini nga sweldo para sa palaabuton nga Christmas,” said Mrs. Magbanua, a CFW for PWDs beneficiary.

The payout was also a success with the help of the Local Government Unit of Hinobaan, led by Municipal Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias, ACT/MCT Area Coordinators Ms. Charmaine Acuña and Mrs. Ofelia Tupas, PWD Federation President Robert Tembrevilla, Philippine National Police (PNP), and numerous augments from KALAHI CIDSS Region VI, spearheaded by Sub-Special Disbursing Officer Ms. Ma. Aizabel Gonzaga.

KALAHI CIDSS NCDDP Hinoba-an conducts its Annual KALAHI Volunteers Yearend Evaluation and Christmas Party at Point Alpha Beach Camp, December 13, 2022.

Together with the Area/Municipal Coordinating Team, the activity was organized by the Hinobaan Kalahi Volunteers Development Association (HIKAVODA), led by the Assoc President, Mr. Peter Fortugaleza and was attended by various KALAHI CIDSS Community Volunteers and Barangay officials across all of the Municipality.

With the utmost support of Mayor Daph Anthony Reliquias, the said Program Review and Christmas get-together was also attended by the Municipal Vice Mayor, Jeffre Engcoy, SB Member Jason Tupas, and Municipal Accountant/Municipal Area Coordinator Mrs. Ofelia Tupas, who, through their speeches, expressed appreciation to the Community Volunteers and the entire KALAHI CIDSS Program.

“This activity aims to look back to all of the hard work, sacrifices and joint effort we collaboratively executed, especially by the Community Volunteers who works non-stop for the betterment of the community,” said AC Charmaine.
