Sugilan-an a volunteer-run village-based library and livelihood in aklan.

Sugilan-an is a community-based group undertaking pioneering community library and livelihood initiatives in Aklan. Sugilan-an, an anagram of the name of its far-flung home village, Naligusan, means 'to converse' in the Aklanon dialect. The group is comprised of endeavoring community leaders, students, out-of-school youth, and senior citizens who came together to express and spark up a collective

interest for the development of their village. The core officers and members are currently involved in networking with concerned agencies, groups, or individuals who can help them mobilize and consolidate skills and resources for sustained library and livelihood initiatives. Being an independent volunteer organization geared towards community empowerment, Sugilan-an is non-political (in the traditional meaning) and non-partisan.
