PNP ARRESTS 14 REGIONAL MOST WANTED PERSONS IN SUSTAINED MANHUNT CAMPAIGN

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sustained its nationwide campaign against wanted persons after police units across the country successfully arrested several high-priority fugitives in separate manhunt operations conducted on August 6 and early August 7, 2026.

Among those apprehended were a No. 10 Most Wanted Person wanted for r**e in Cagayan; a No. 5 Most Wanted Person facing statutory r**e and related sexual offenses in Lanao del Norte; No. 6 and No. 7 Most Wanted Persons separately wanted for violations of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 in Cebu and Bohol; and a No. 5 Most Wanted Person charged with murder in Cebu City. Police also arrested a No. 10 Most Wanted Person wanted for two counts of r**e in Cotabato.

Also taken into custody were a No. 7 Most Wanted Person facing ten counts of qualified r**e of a minor in Pangasinan; a No. 8 Most Wanted Person wanted for qualified r**e in La Union; a No. 4 Most Wanted Person facing a murder case in Davao City; and a No. 8 Most Wanted Person facing two counts of statutory r**e in Davao del Sur.

The operations likewise resulted in the arrest of two regionally listed Most Wanted Persons separately wanted for r**e and statutory r**e in Cavite, another wanted person facing multiple counts of acts of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act No. 7610 in Zamboanga del Norte, and a No. 5 Most Wanted Person facing statutory r**e and violations of Republic Act Nos. 11930 and 10175 in Laguna.

All were arrested by virtue of valid warrants of arrest issued by the courts and are now under the custody of the concerned police units for proper legal proceedings.

These accomplishments reinforce the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations by strengthening nationwide manhunt efforts and improving the implementation of warrant service operations. They likewise support the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to uphold the rule of law and enhance public safety through effective law enforcement.

PSR-LISTED REBEL OPERATIVE CAPTURED OVER MURDER CASE

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a Periodic Status Report (PSR)-listed rebel operative wanted for murder and three counts of frustrated murder during a joint counterinsurgency operation in Barangay Giubonon, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur on July 31, 2026.

The operation was conducted by the 1304th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, with personnel of the 1st Special Action Battalion, Special Action Force (1SAB, SAF) providing tactical support, alongside other PNP units. It resulted in the arrest of the suspect, known only by the alias “Kamandag,” who is listed under the Sub-Regional Committee 1, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee in the 2nd Quarter CY 2022 Periodic Status Report (PSR).

The suspect was arrested by virtue of standing warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 7 in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur. Following the operation, the arrested individual was turned over to the Esperanza Municipal Police Station, Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office, for documentation and proper disposition.

“Our sustained counterinsurgency operations remain focused on protecting communities and ensuring that individuals who evade the law are brought before the courts. We will remain relentless in preserving peace, upholding public safety, and enforcing the rule of law,” said PNP Chief PGEN Nartatez.

UNDOCUMENTED .45 DOOMS ARMY PFC AFTER TAGUIG GUNFIRE

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a 26-year-old Private First Class of the Philippine Army and confiscated an undocumented caliber .45 pistol in Taguig City on August 3, 2026, in connection with an alleged indiscriminate firing incident.

Police responded to the incident along Mastrili Street, Dulong Bayan, Barangay Bambang, where investigators recovered one fired cartridge case. Through witness accounts and CCTV forward tracking, authorities identified and located the suspect, who was subsequently arrested. Recovered from his possession were an M1911A1 caliber .45 pistol and five live rounds of am******on. The suspect failed to present any License to Own and Possess Fi****ms, fi***rm registration, or any document authorizing his possession of the fi***rm.

The confiscated fi***rm will undergo ballistic and cross-matching examination as investigators verify whether the suspect holds a valid License to Own and Possess Fi****ms, fi***rm registration, or a Permit to Carry Fi****ms Outside Residence. Charges for Alarms and Scandal under Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code, Illegal Discharge of Fi***rm under Article 254 of the Revised Penal Code, and violations of Republic Act No. 10591 are being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.

“The PNP remains firm in enforcing fi***rms laws and ensuring that those who unlawfully possess or misuse fi***rms are held accountable. Every illegal fi***rm taken off the streets is a step toward safer communities and stronger public trust,” PGEN Nartatez said.

8 MOST WANTED FOR R**E, SEXUAL OFFENSES FALL IN NATIONWIDE PNP OPS

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., apprehended eight most wanted persons facing r**e and other sexual offense charges in separate police operations conducted nationwide from August 7 to 8, 2026.

Among those arrested was the No. 7 Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office (PRO) 9, who was apprehended in Malalag, Davao del Sur for two counts of Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended. In Las Piñas City, the No. 7 Most Wanted Person of the National Capital Region Police Office was likewise taken into custody for R**e, also with no bail recommended.

Police operations in Ilocos Sur resulted in the arrest of a wanted person facing two counts of Statutory R**e, two counts of Sexual Assault, and Statutory Acts of Lasciviousness. The two Statutory R**e cases carried no recommended bail, while the Sexual Assault and Statutory Acts of Lasciviousness cases carried recommended bail.

In Nueva Vizcaya, the No. 8 Most Wanted Person of PRO 2 was apprehended for Qualified R**e of a Minor, with no bail recommended. Meanwhile, the No. 10 Most Wanted Person of PRO 4B was arrested in Oriental Mindoro for two counts of Qualified R**e and Sexual Assault, with no bail recommended for the charges.

In Kalinga, the No. 9 Most Wanted Person of PRO CAR was captured for Statutory R**e, with no bail recommended. The campaign further accounted for the arrest of the No. 9 Most Wanted Person of PRO 4A in Batangas for seven counts of R**e, with no bail recommended, and the No. 10 Most Wanted Person of PRO NIR in Negros Oriental for Qualified R**e of a Minor, also with no bail recommended.

All arrested individuals were placed under the custody of the concerned police units for proper legal disposition pursuant to the warrants issued by the courts.

“These apprehensions reflect the PNP’s resolve to locate individuals wanted for serious sexual offenses, regardless of where they may be hiding. Every valid warrant remains an obligation for the police to enforce, while ensuring that every case proceeds through the proper judicial process,” PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said.

SWIFT COMMUNITY ACTION FOILS ATTEMPT TO TAKE ₱120K EQUIPMENT

A suspected theft involving construction equipment worth approximately ₱120,000.00 was promptly addressed after community safety personnel in Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City apprehended two individuals and recovered the dismantled equipment on August 8, 2026.

The incident came to light when a company representative heard repeated hammering sounds inside a construction compound and checked the area. He reportedly found a 54-year-old dump truck driver, who had been with the company for about 15 years, dismantling the equipment.

The individual later identified a 35-year-old utility driver from a sister company as allegedly having assisted in the dismantling and movement of the equipment.

Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO) responded, secured the area, and took the two individuals into custody. The recovered equipment was likewise secured and turned over together with the suspects to the local police station for proper investigation and disposition.

The two individuals are facing a complaint for Qualified Theft under Article 310 of the Revised Penal Code. They will remain entitled to due process, and the determination of their liability rests with the proper authorities and the courts.

Chief, PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the incident demonstrates the value of alertness and immediate coordination at the community level.

“Hindi kailangang malaki agad ang insidente bago tayo kumilos. Kapag may nakitang kahina-hinalang kilos, ang mabilis na pag-alerto at tamang pagresponde can prevent further loss and help authorities establish what really happened,” PGen Nartatez said.

He added that the PNP will continue strengthening coordination with local communities and safety partners as part of its Enhanced Managing Police Operations under the PNP Focused Agenda, ensuring that police response remains timely, appropriate, and grounded in established procedures.

REGION 2’s NO. 3, NO. 7 MOST WANTED FOR R**E CASES COLLARED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the command of PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested the No. 3 and No. 7 Most Wanted Persons in Region 2 in separate operations conducted in Isabela on August 5, 2026, for Qualified R**e and two counts of Statutory R**e, respectively.

The No. 3 Regional Most Wanted Person, a 30-year-old Filipino male, was arrested in Barangay Minanga, Naguilian, Isabela by operatives of the CIDG Isabela Provincial Field Unit and the Naguilian Municipal Police Station. He was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court, Second Judicial Region, Branch 18, City of Ilagan, Isabela, for Qualified R**e, with no bail recommended. The case arose from the complaint of a 16-year-old minor, who alleged that she had been repeatedly sexually abused by her stepfather from June 2025 to March 2026 and threatened to prevent her from disclosing the abuse. The incidents came to light after school officials noticed the victim’s condition and coordinated with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and the Women and Children Protection Desk.

Meanwhile, the No. 7 Most Wanted Person in Region 2, a 56-year-old Filipino male, was arrested in Barangay Tallag, Cabagan, Isabela by personnel of the Alicia Municipal Police Station with the assistance of other PNP units. He was served a Warrant of Arrest for two counts of Statutory R**e, likewise carrying no bail recommended. The investigation stemmed from a complaint filed by a 15-year-old victim, who disclosed that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted on two occasions in 2022 and threatened with harm if she reported the incidents to authorities.

“These arrests send a clear message that no wanted person can evade the law indefinitely. The PNP will relentlessly pursue offenders and ensure they are brought before the courts to answer for their crimes,” PGEN Nartatez said.

PNP GAINS GROUND IN CYBERCRIME FIGHT, POSTS 95 FILINGS, 7 CONVICTIONS

The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) continued to strengthen its response to cyber-enabled offenses in July 2026, recording 95 cases referred for regular filing while securing seven convictions in separate cases during the month.

The figures reflect the PNP ACG’s sustained work across different stages of law enforcement—from receiving and investigating complaints, gathering and examining digital evidence, and coordinating with prosecutors, to pursuing cases through the courts.

Among the 95 cases referred for regular filing, Libel under Section 4(c)(4) of Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 accounted for 45 cases. Estafa or Swindling under Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 followed with 37 cases, while 13 cases involved Unjust Vexation under Article 287 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to applicable provisions of RA 10175.

Meanwhile, the seven convictions secured during the same month involved various cyber-enabled offenses, including violations of RA 12010 or the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act, RA 10175, RA 11934 or the SIM Registration Act, and RA 11930 or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act, as well as Grave Threat.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the figures demonstrate the importance of treating cybercrime enforcement as a continuing process, where every stage—from investigation to prosecution—must be handled properly.

“Kapag may reklamo, hindi puwedeng hanggang report lang. Kailangan may malinaw na aksyon, maayos na ebidensya, at tamang proseso. Sa cybercrime, mabilis ang galaw ng mga gumagawa nito, kaya kailangan ganoon din kabilis at kaayos ang pagtugon ng PNP,” General Nartatez said.

The accomplishments were driven by cyber patrolling, digital forensics, intelligence monitoring, case build-up, and close coordination with complainants, prosecutors, courts, and law enforcement partners, in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations to strengthen responses to evolving digital crimes.

The PNP’s intensified cybercrime response also supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s broader peace and security agenda by helping protect Filipinos from threats that increasingly extend into the digital environment.

As cyber-enabled offenses continue to evolve, the PNP ACG will sustain evidence-based investigation and close coordination with concerned agencies to ensure that complaints receive appropriate action and that cases are pursued through lawful processes, reinforcing the commitment to a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
