STREET-LEVEL INDIVIDUAL NABBED IN LINAMON BUY-BUST OP; ₱109K WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED
CAMP GALLEGO, Tubod, Lanao del Norte — A street-level individual was arrested and ₱109,480 worth of suspected shabu was seized during a joint buy-bust operation in Linamon, Lanao del Norte, on August 31, 2026.
At about 10:28 PM, personnel of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), and Linamon Municipal Police Station (MPS) of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO) conducted the operation at Purok 8, Barangay Samburon, Linamon, Lanao del Norte, under PDEA Pre-Operation Control No. 11-00-08312026-026.
The operation resulted in the arrest of alias “Isok,” 32 years old, single, a resident of the said barangay, and identified as a Street-Level Individual (SLI).
Seized during the operation were four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of 16.10 grams and a standard drug price of ₱109,480. Also recovered were one pack of Modern ci******es and one ₱500 bill used as buy-bust money.
The confiscated suspected illegal drugs were subsequently brought to the Iligan City Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative examination.
Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the arrested suspect.
The suspect is presently under the custody of Linamon MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
PCOL LEO DE LEON SUA, Provincial Director, LDN PPO, commended the operating units for their coordinated efforts and reiterated the police force’s commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs throughout the province.
“Our intensified anti-illegal drug operations will continue through sustained intelligence gathering, close coordination among our operating units, and the active support of our communities. We encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any information regarding illegal drug activities in their respective areas,”he said. # # #

M**F CONVOY STOPPED FOR VERIFICATION AT KOLAMBUGAN CHECKPOINT; SAFELY ESCORTED BACK TO LANAO DEL SUR

CAMP GALLEGO, Tubod, Lanao del Norte — Personnel of the Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office (LDN PPO), together with the Philippine Army, stopped a convoy of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (M**F) 131st Brigade for verification during a checkpoint operation in Barangay Libertad, Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, on September 2, 2026.

At about 7:30 AM, personnel of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st PMFC), LDN PPO, together with the 5th Mechanized Battalion, Philippine Army, conducted checkpoint operations and verified a convoy composed of 23 vehicles and five motorcycles.
During the verification and inspection, the convoy was unable to present pertinent documents or proof showing prior coordination with the concerned authorities regarding its movement through the area.

To ensure public safety and maintain peace and order, PNP and AFP personnel facilitated the safe and orderly return of the convoy from Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte, to its place of origin in Picong, Lanao del Sur.

PCOL LEO DE LEON SUA, Provincial Director of Lanao del Norte PPO, emphasized that the action taken by government security forces was intended to ensure public safety and proper coordination while respecting existing peace mechanisms.

“Our primary concern is the safety and security of everyone. We recognize and respect the existing peace mechanisms, and we encourage all concerned parties to observe proper coordination before undertaking organized movements, particularly those involving large convoys. This will help prevent misunderstandings and ensure that peace and order are maintained in our communities,” PCOL SUA said.

He further assured the public that the LDN PPO will continue working closely with the AFP, local government units, and other peace and security partners to maintain a peaceful and secure environment throughout the province.

The LDN PPO remains committed to upholding peace and order, strengthening coordination among concerned stakeholders, and supporting initiatives that contribute to lasting peace and stability in Lanao del Norte. # # #
