📍IEC with Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. - Lasureco

On July 28, 2026, the Community Relations (ComRel) Section of the Community Development Department (CDD) successfully conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity with the Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (LASURECO) on the Department of Energ Circular No. DC2025-10-0023 governing the implementation of the Energy Regulations (ER)1-94 Program.

The session provided updates on the enhanced policy, including the increased allocation of ER benefits for qualified host communities, the distribution of benefits among eligible beneficiaries-including host local government units, host communities, and Distribution Utilities-and the corresponding roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in ensuring the transparent, efficient, and accountable implementation of the program.

Beyond discussing the enhanced policy, the session underscored that all beneficiaries of the ER 1-94 Program have a shared responsibility to protect and preserve Lake Lanao, the primary water source of the Agus Hydroelectric Power Plants. The conservation of Lake Lanao and its watershed is vital to sustaining hydroelectric power generation, which in turn ensures the continued delivery of ER benefits to qualified beneficiaries. The activity reaffirmed that the effective implementation of the ER Program goes hand in hand with the collective commitment of stakeholders to environmental stewardship and sustainable resource management.

The ComRel Section of CDD looks forward to the continued cooperation of all stakeholders in promoting policy awareness, environmental stewardship, and the effective implementation of the Enhanced Energy Regulations Program.
