03 August 2026 – The 4th Marine “Makusug” Brigade (4MBde) joined the nationwide observance of the 77th International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month with a theme “Pinalakas na Ugnayan at Pagkakaisa sa Pagsulong ng IHL,” held at the H4MBde, Camp Cape Bojeador, Burgos, Ilocos Norte.

Highlights of the activity included a solemn recitation of the Pledge of Commitment to International Humanitarian Law and the reading of the message of the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, which reaffirmed the AFP’s unwavering commitment to upholding International Humanitarian Law and safeguarding human rights.

To further demonstrate the brigade’s support an IHL streamer/banner was installed at the main gate of 4MBde. The display serves as a constant reminder of the Brigade’s commitment to promoting awareness of International Humanitarian Law and supporting national initiatives that uphold humanitarian principles.

Through this observance, the 4MBde reaffirmed its commitment to protect the rights, dignity, and welfare of every Filipino while continuously upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and adherence to International Humanitarian Law.

03 August 2026 - The 4th Marine “Makusug” Brigade (4MBde) successfully facilitated the Closing Ceremony of the Marine Special Operations Training (MSOT) Classes 02, 03, and 04-26, together with the Marine Special Operations Refresher Training (MSORT) Class 01-26, held at Headquarters, 4th Marine Brigade, Camp Cape Bojeador, Burgos, Ilocos Norte.

Colonel Noel M Tiu PN(M)(GSC), Deputy Commander, 4th Marine Brigade as he represented Brigadier General Bob R Apostol PN(M), Commander, 4th Marine Brigade, as the Keynote Speaker. In his message, he commended the graduates for completing the physically and mentally demanding training. He likewise challenged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, excellence, and integrity as Marine Special Operations-capable personnel, emphasizing their vital role in accomplishing the Philippine Marine Corps’ mission.

A total of 81 students completed the MSOT and MSORT after undergoing rigorous instruction designed to enhance their physical endurance, mental resilience, tactical proficiency, and operational readiness. During the ceremony, the graduates received Certificates of Completion and special awards in recognition of their achievements and outstanding performance.

The successful conduct of the MSOT and MSORT underscores the 4MBde’s unwavering commitment to developing highly skilled, mission-ready, and combat-capable Marines who are prepared to respond effectively to the country’s evolving security challenges and operational requirements.

July 31, 2026 – The 4th Marine "Makusug" Brigade successfully hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Exercise ARMAS Patrol 02-2026 at the Headquarters 4th Marine Brigade, Camp Cape Bojeador, Burgos, Ilocos Norte.

The activity graced by the Commandant Philippine Marine Corps, Major General Vicente MAP Blanco III PN(M) as the Keynote Speaker. The ceremony was attended by the Senior Marine Officers, Representatives from various Local Government Agencies, Local Government Units, partner organizations, and other key stakeholders whose invaluable support, coordination, and commitment greatly contributed to the successful conduct of the ARMAS Patrol.

The closing ceremony marked the successful completion of Exercise Patrol 02-2026, a training activity designed to enhance combat readiness, strengthen leadership, improve tactical proficiency, and foster teamwork among participants through realistic and mission-oriented scenarios.

The 4th Marine Brigade reaffirms its continued support for Philippine Marine Corps training initiatives that strengthen operational excellence and develop highly capable, mission-ready Marines in collaboration with partner organizations in service to the nation.

The Headquarters, 4th Marine "Makusug" Brigade (4MBde), successfully showcased information materials on the West Philippine Sea and conducted a capability display of Philippine Marine Corps special operations equipment in close collaboration with the Ilocos Norte Model ASEAN Meeting (INMAM) during the Ilocano Dialogue on the West Philippine Sea held at Ilocandia Cultural Center, Batac City, Ilocos Norte, on July 18, 2026. The exhibit aimed to enhance public awareness of the country's maritime rights while demonstrating the professionalism and operational readiness of the Philippine Marines in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.

The forum featured distinguished speakers and recognized experts on the West Philippine Sea, including Secretary of National Defense Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro Jr. and former Senior Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines Antonio T. Carpio. Their presentations provided participants with valuable insights into the legal, historical, and strategic dimensions of the West Philippine Sea, reinforcing the Philippines' sovereign rights and maritime entitlements under international law.

The dialogue gathered more than 700 participants from the academe, government agencies, and youth organizations. The event strengthened public understanding and encouraged informed civic participation in protecting the nation's maritime interests.

The 4MBde remains committed to fostering an informed citizenry that actively supports the peaceful protection of the Philippines' sovereignty, sovereign rights, and territorial integrity.
