One of the books that changed how I think about money was the Cashflow Quadrant.
Simple lang ang drawing. Pero sobrang lalim ng lesson.
The author said there are 4 ways people earn money.
It’s about how income is created.
1. Employee (E)
Employees exchange time for money.
Magaling sila sa work nila. Corporate employees.
Ang advantage?
Steady income. Benefits. Predictability.
In fact, every entrepreneur should first learn to become a great employee.
Because this is where we learn: Discipline. Professionalism. Accountability. Humility. How to work with people.
2. Self-Employed (S)
Ito na ang next level. Mas malaki ang income. Mas malaki rin ang freedom.
Pero the income still depend us
Doctors. Lawyers. Dentists. Freelancers. Consultants. Real estate brokers. Insurance agents.
Professionals who personally run everything.
3. Business Owner (B)
This is where everything changes.
A true business owner builds systems.
The business can operate even when the owner is not physically present.
People lead people.
Managers manage operations.
Systems create consistency.
Business is where leverage begins.
4. Investor (I)
Ito ang pinakamataas sa quadrant.
Money starts working for us.
Instead of asking:
“How can we earn more?”
We ask:
“How can our money earn more?”
Businesses. Stocks. Real estate. Private equity. Partnerships. Rental properties.
Our capital starts producing income.
I realized that, the goal is not to leave one quadrant immediately.
The goal is to become effective in each one.
Because every quadrant teaches something valuable.
Employee teaches discipline.
Self-employed teaches skill.
Business owner teaches leadership.
Investor teaches capital allocation.
Start by mastering our craft.
Become excellent.
Build credibility.
Then turn that skill into income.
Learn how to sell. Learn how to serve clients.
Then build systems. Recruit people. Develop leaders. Delegate. Create processes.
Finally, invest the profits. Not just spend them.
Buy assets. Acquire businesses. Invest for cash flow. Let money multiply.
Every quadrant has value.
Every quadrant teaches something.
The goal isn’t to rush. The goal is to keep moving.
Because financial freedom isn’t about making more money. It’s about gradually moving from working for money to building systems and eventually letting money work for us.
That’s when work becomes optional and impact becomes intentional.
