𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 | FSEG Ocular Assessment and Pre-Inspection of DSWD Facilities in Iloilo

The Bureau of Fire Protection Iloilo, under the leadership of FSUPT MELANIE G HABAWEL, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, welcomed and assisted the Fire Safety Enforcement Group (FSEG) of BFP National Headquarters in the conduct of the Ocular Assessment and Pre-Inspection of selected Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) facilities within the province of Iloilo.

The activity, conducted from 05–09 October 2026, aims to assess fire safety compliance and facility readiness, covering the DSWD Home for Girls in Cabatuan, Iloilo and the Regional Center for Women (RCW) in New Lucena, Iloilo, in coordination with the concerned BFP Iloilo fire stations.

The collaborative assessment highlights the importance of ensuring that facilities serving vulnerable sectors are safe, compliant, and prepared to respond to fire and other emergencies.

In support of the leadership of FCSUPT EDWIN P VARGAS, DSC, Regional Director, BFP Region 6, and under the guidance of FCSUPT WILBERTO RICO NEIL A KWAN TIU, DSC, Officer-in-Charge, Bureau of Fire Protection, BFP Iloilo, through coordinated fire safety enforcement and technical assessment, continues to uphold its mandate of protecting lives and property and promoting safer communities.

Fire response vehicles come in different types and capacities, each designed to serve specific operational needs.

🚒 BFP Fire Trucks are procured and operated by the Bureau of Fire Protection, with varying capacities and capabilities depending on operational requirements.

🛺 LGU Fire Trikes, on the other hand, are initiatives of Local Government Units intended to augment and support BFP firefighters, particularly in communities where access and mobility may be challenging.

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗹 𝗡𝗶ñ𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 | Convening of the Task Force El Niño in Iloilo

On 06 October 2026, the Bureau of Fire Protection Iloilo, under the leadership of FSUPT MELANIE G HABAWEL, DSC, Acting Provincial Fire Marshal, participated in the convening of the Task Force El Niño in the Province of Iloilo, held at the Grand Social Hall, Casa Real de Iloilo.

The activity brought together concerned government agencies and stakeholders to discuss and align preparedness measures and coordinated actions in addressing the potential impacts of El Niño in the province. It provided an avenue for strengthening inter-agency collaboration and ensuring that appropriate measures are in place to protect communities and enhance resilience.
