JUNE 1, 2026 — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through Negosyo Center San Miguel, conducted an Entrepreneurship Consultancy Session titled “How to Start a Business” for returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from San Miguel, Iloilo.
The initiative forms part of DTI’s continuing support for returning OFWs applying for the DMW “Balik Pinas! Balik Hanapbuhay!” Program, a livelihood assistance package designed to provide immediate support and facilitate the smooth reintegration of OFWs into local economic activities.

Through the consultancy session, DTI aims to equip beneficiaries with essential knowledge, practical skills, and business guidance to help them establish, manage, and sustain their own enterprises. The program also seeks to promote self-reliance and create long-term livelihood opportunities for returning OFWs and their families.

MAY 28, 2026 — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through Negosyo Center San Miguel, conducted an Entrepreneurship Consultancy Session titled “How to Start a Business” for returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from San Miguel, Iloilo.

The Junior Business Counsellors from Negosyo Center San Miguel and Negosyo Center Leganes served as resource persons during the Entrepreneurship Seminar and Financial Literacy with Simple Record Keeping session conducted for 4Ps beneficiaries during the “Pinapalakas na Pagpupugay sa mga Ka-4Ps” held at the San Miguel Gymnasium.

The seminar provided participants with valuable knowledge and practical insights on entrepreneurship, financial management, budgeting, saving strategies, and the importance of maintaining simple records for small businesses. Through engaging discussions and informative presentations, the resource persons encouraged participants to develop entrepreneurial mindsets, improve financial discipline, and explore sustainable livelihood opportunities that may help uplift their economic condition.

The activity was attended by a total of 174 participants who actively participated in the learning sessions and discussions. The initiative aimed to strengthen financial awareness and entrepreneurial capabilities among 4Ps beneficiaries, empowering them with practical skills and knowledge that can contribute to long-term self-reliance and community development. ☺️🫶🏻

Empowering solo parents through knowledge and opportunity! 💼✨

April 23, 2026, the Business Counsellors from Negosyo Center San Miguel and Negosyo Center Alimodian successfully conducted an Entrepreneurship Development Seminar together with a Financial Literacy session featuring Simple Record Keeping for the participants of Solo Parents Day. The activity took place at the Municipal Covered Gym in San Miguel, Iloilo, gathering almost 120 solo parent participants from the community.

The seminar aimed to provide valuable insights on starting and managing small businesses, as well as strengthening financial management practices among solo parents. Through discussions on basic entrepreneurship concepts, budgeting, saving, and proper record keeping, participants were equipped with practical tools and knowledge that they can apply in their daily lives and future livelihood ventures.

This initiative highlights the importance of empowering solo parents by enhancing their skills and confidence in managing finances and exploring income-generating opportunities. It also serves as a reminder of the vital role they play in their families and the community, and the continuous support they deserve.

The activity was hosted by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of San Miguel, whose unwavering commitment to uplifting the welfare of solo parents made this meaningful event possible.
