The Department of Trade and Industry–Iloilo Provincial Office (DTI-IPO), through Negosyo Center Zarraga, participated in the Zarraga Youth Day: Leadership, Career, and Empowerment last August 15, 2026, held at the Conference Room of the Zarraga Municipal Hall. The activity was conducted in observance of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 with the theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspiration.”

As part of the program, the Negosyo Center Zarraga Business Counselor served as a Resource Person, presenting the various DTI Programs and Services available to young entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners. The discussion highlighted DTI’s initiatives and support services aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, business development, and economic empowerment among the youth.

The activity provided an opportunity for the young participants of Zarraga to gain valuable information on available government programs and services that can help them pursue their career goals, develop entrepreneurial skills, and contribute to the economic development of their community.

Through its continued participation in youth-centered activities, DTI-IPO, through Negosyo Center Zarraga, remains committed to bringing government services closer to the community and empowering the youth to become active partners in local economic development.

Ms. Gerlie S. Cerbolles of Brgy. Dawis Norte Zarraga, Iloilo. Earlier today July 27, 2026.

This personalized consultancy aims to provide participants with valuable insights on business improvement, guide them in proper business planning, and introduce the functions and services of the Negosyo Center.

The One-on-One Entrepreneurship Consultancy is also a prerequisite for the "Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay Program", which provides financial aid to displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Department of Migrant Worker (DMW).

Empowering Local Entrepreneurs: NSB Express Caravan Successfully Conducted in Brgy. Tuburan, Zarraga, Iloilo

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo Provincial Office, successfully conducted the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) Express Caravan on June 24, 2026, in Barangay Tuburan, Zarraga, Iloilo, bringing essential government services and business development programs closer to the community.

The activity aimed to empower local entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, and community members by providing access to information, resources, and opportunities that will help strengthen and grow Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

During the program, our resource speakers shared valuable knowledge and services available to support local businesses:

✅ Charlene Joy Adeja, NC-TIDS, presented the various Business Development Unit (BDU) and Industry Development Unit (IDU) Provincial Services, highlighting opportunities to connect local products with larger industries and broader markets.

✅ Stephanie Robles, NC-TIDA, discussed the core Negosyo Center Services, explaining how MSMEs can access business registration, advisory, and development assistance.

✅ Romil F. Maro, STIDS, discussed the Consumer Protection Unit Services, empowering participants with essential knowledge on consumer rights and responsibilities.

✅ Jason Lloyd Arangote introduced the financing opportunities offered through Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) to help entrepreneurs strengthen and expand their businesses.

The event was attended by Mr. Andre Bon Sumagaysay, former Sangguniang Bayan Member and Executive Assistant to the Municipality of Zarraga, who represented Mayor Hon. Jeffrey M. Silveo. In his message, he emphasized the vital role of MSMEs in driving economic growth and fostering sustainable development within the municipality.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the entire community of Barangay Tuburan, especially Barangay Captain Hon. Fredo Grinn and the Barangay Officials, for their warm hospitality, support, and active participation in making this activity a success.

The Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo Provincial Office, led by Daryl Mae Lorene S. Jacar, Provincial CARP Coordinator together with the Business Counselor from Negosyo Center Zarraga, conducted an enterprise visit to Balud II Agrarian Reform Cooperative.

During the visit, the team discussed the 2026 Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) interventions that aims to further strengthen and support the cooperative and its members. The focused group discussion was held at Brgy. Balud II, Zarraga, Iloilo as part of DTI Iloilo’s continued commitment to empowering agrarian reform beneficiaries through enterprise development and business assistance programs.

The Department of Trade and Industry Iloilo Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Zarraga, served as a resource institution during the conduct of the seminar titled “Strengthening Community-Based Enterprise through Membership Recruitment and Marketing Skills Training” held earlier today, April 30, 2026 at Barangay Inagdangan Centro.

The seminar was organized by the BSN 4N students of the University of San Agustin College of Nursing, aiming to empower community members by enhancing their skills in enterprise development, membership recruitment, and marketing.
During the activity, the Business Counsellor from Negosyo Center Zarraga shared valuable insights on Entrepreneurship and Marketing Strategy, emphasizing practical approaches in starting and sustaining a business, identifying target markets, and applying effective promotional techniques to boost community-based enterprises.

This initiative highlights the collaborative efforts between academic institutions and government agencies in promoting inclusive growth and strengthening the capacity of local communities to engage in sustainable economic activities.
