This World Mental Health Day, let us keep in mind that mental health support is a lifeline, especially for those affected by crisis situations, emergencies, and disasters.

According to the WHO, to effectively prepare and respond to humanitarian emergencies it is important to:

✅Include MHPSS in all-sectoral emergency preparedness plans, including hazard and vulnerability assessments, capacity building plans, coordination mechanisms and contingency plans.
✅Strengthen community self-help and social supports, ensuring the involvement of vulnerable groups, including people with mental health conditions.
✅Protect and promote the rights of people with severe mental health conditions, including those living in institutions such as psychiatric hospitals, social care homes and rehabilitation clinics for substance use.
✅Establish referral networks between mental health specialists, general health care providers, community supports and other relevant services.

Mental health is a right, not a privilege. Communities recover faster when mental health care is part of disaster response. Make mental health a global priority and services accessible and stigma-free, even in crisis situations. 🌿

The recent fire incident at Iriga Central School last August 27, 2025 has caused a significant loss for the students and teachers. Learning materials and other essential materials such as notebooks, printer, and laptop were lost during the incident.

Through our donation drive, we can lend a helping hand and bring hope as they recover.

A woman that embodies resilience, compassion and selflessness. Shane Juelar Barcela is not just about her beauty that every one can see but her heart and soul are as beautiful as she already is.

KRISTINE aftermath was not easy for Bicolanos especially for the people of Camarines. Life was tough but her presence created smile from the community especially the children.

SHANE is a volunteer of TINARABANGAN IRIGA. She dedicated time and effort to be of help not just the people of Iriga City but every community, barangay or town that we were able to reach.

We are very proud of you representing Iriga City in this year's Miss Kaogma. We will cheer, support and pray for you to have the crown.
