Partnership in Action: Expanding Learning Opportunities Through the Gift of Books
Last June 19, 2026, Geras Integrated School received a donation of one box of elementary books from its partner organizations, SOLIDARIDAD-IDP Inc. and ChildFund Philippines. The donation was spearheaded by Sr. Nini Paragas Rebollos together with Ma’am Ranie Mohammad and Sir Roderick Oliveros as part of their continued commitment to supporting literacy development and expanding learning opportunities for young learners.
On behalf of School Principal, Ma’am Dianah Jean Segayo, the donated books were warmly received by Sir Eric O. Sigarra, Head Teacher IV, together with the school’s Reading Coordinators. The turnover activity reflected the strong partnership between the school and its stakeholders in promoting literacy and educational development.
The donation is expected to enrich the school’s collection of reading materials and support various reading programs and interventions. These resources will provide learners with greater access to age-appropriate books that can help improve their reading proficiency, comprehension, and appreciation for reading.
More than a collection of books, the donation represents a shared commitment to empowering children through education. Through the generosity of SOLIDARIDAD-IDP Inc. and ChildFund Philippines, learners will have additional opportunities to explore new ideas, broaden their knowledge, and develop lifelong learning habits.
The Geras Integrated School community expressed its heartfelt gratitude to SOLIDARIDAD-IDP Inc. and ChildFund Philippines for their generosity and unwavering support. Such partnerships demonstrate how collaboration among educational stakeholders can create meaningful and lasting impacts on the lives of learners.

🌊 BASILAN-WIDE ECO-SCOUTS CAMP 2026 - Theme: Strong Marine Protected Areas for our Blue Planet

2-day Basilan-wide Eco-Scouts Camp gathered 110 active and passionate youths, together with supportive parent volunteers, for two meaningful days of learning, creativity, friendship, and action for ocean and environmental awareness. 💚🌏

This Ocean Month celebration focused on building responsible young leaders through important discussions on:
✅ Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy — Ms. Jalaine Riza Mae G. Macoycruz from CSWDO-Lamitan City
✅ PSEAH Awareness — Project Manager Sr. Ma. Valentina P. Rebollos, OP
✅ Public Safety — CPL Glenn P. Garfin 3rd CMO, 15th CMO Battalion
✅ Environmental Awareness — Mr. Allan Tura from CENRO-Lamitan City and Ms. Jordana Khad from MENRE-Basilan
✅ Basilan: A Marine Paradise to Protect — Hon. Amin T. Hataman - Board Member District 1

We are deeply thankful to our partners and speakers who generously shared their knowledge and time with the youth. 🤝✨

The camp also became a space for creativity and teamwork through:
🎨 🖌️ Slogan Making and Poster Making Workshop

One of the most unforgettable moments was the Solidarity Night🎤✨ where everyone enjoyed performances, games, and Mr. and Ms. Outstanding Eco-Scouts. Participants proudly showcased their creativity by wearing evening gowns and suits made from recycled materials — proving that beauty, talent, and environmental responsibility can go together. ♻️🌏

This camp reminded us that empowered youth can help protect our oceans and inspire communities to care for nature. Together, we continue to build safer communities, cleaner seas, and a stronger future for the next generation.
