The Antong Irrigation Dam System in Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat is now fully operational, marking a major breakthrough for food security and agricultural sustainability in Region 12.
This transformative irrigation project was strongly pitched and championed by Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu, in partnership with NIA Administrator Eduardo Guillen, in response to the urgent need to strengthen food security stability and ensure sustainable water access for farming communities.
Today, the Antong Irrigation Dam System is now actively delivering a reliable and sustainable water supply to agricultural lands, helping farmers overcome water shortages and reduce dependence on unpredictable rainfall.
With the capacity to irrigate up to 3,000 hectares of rice farmlands, this state-of-the-art irrigation system is expected to significantly boost rice production and agricultural productivity in the region.
Most importantly, thousands of farmers across South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat Provinces will benefit from this game-changing project, bringing greater opportunities for increased harvests, better livelihood, and stronger food security.
"The Antong Irrigation Dam System is a promise fulfilled for our farmers. This is more than infrastructure—it is hope, food security, and a lasting investment for thousands of farmers across Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato. We will continue to prioritize programs that uplift agriculture and improve the lives of our people."
-Gov. Datu Pax Ali
