The **Sangguniang Bayan of Jones, Isabela** conducted its **34th Regular Session** on **August 10, 2026 (Monday)**, presided over by **Hon. Evelyn R. Raspado**, Municipal Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer.

The session provided a venue for the discussion and deliberation of various legislative and local governance matters, including barangay ordinances, development concerns, personnel and organizational matters, and other issues relevant to the effective delivery of public service.

Among the matters taken up were proposed measures concerning the reprogramming of barangay development funds, the regulation of videoke and amplified audio devices, and ordinances promoting proper conduct in public places. The Council also received communications and updates from the Civil Service Commission and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Isabela concerning personnel development, Filipino values, and actions taken on previously approved ordinances.

Through meaningful deliberations and responsible legislative action, the Sangguniang Bayan continues to work toward responsive governance and policies that address the needs of the community.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Jones, Isabela successfully conducted its 33rd Regular Session on August 5, 2026 (Wednesday), presided over by Hon. Evelyn R. Raspado, Municipal Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer.

During the session, the Council deliberated on various legislative matters, including proposed ordinances, resolutions, budget-related concerns, and other agenda items aimed at advancing the Municipality's development programs and strengthening responsive local governance.

The session also served as the venue for the ceremonial turnover of livelihood assistance under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP).

Through the program, DOLE awarded more than โ‚ฑ1.347 million in livelihood assistance to approximately 45 parents and/or guardians of identified child laborers in the Municipality of Jones. The initiative seeks to provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to beneficiary families while supporting the government's continuing efforts to prevent and eliminate child labor.

DOLE Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Ms. Liezel P. Magno expressed her appreciation to the Sangguniang Bayan for accommodating the activity and acknowledged the continued partnership between DOLE and the Local Government Unit of Jones in implementing programs that directly benefit vulnerable sectors.

On behalf of Municipal Mayor Hon. Nhel C. Montano, CPA, Municipal Administrator Dr. Manuel B. Cabungcal Jr. conveyed the Mayor's gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment for its continued support and reaffirmed the Local Government Unit's commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the program.

Meanwhile, Committee on Local Employment Chairperson SB Member Cynthia C. Bangloy conveyed the Sangguniang Bayan's appreciation to DOLE and reaffirmed the legislative body's continued support for initiatives that promote employment opportunities, protect children's welfare, and improve the quality of life of Jonesian families.

The Sangguniang Bayan Committees on Commerce, Trade, Industry and Economic Enterprises, and Agriculture successfully conducted a dialogue on August 4, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Building/Legislative Building, Session Hall, Jones, Isabela, to address the low farmgate prices of live pigs and the increasing retail prices of pork.

The activity brought together members of the Sangguniang Bayan, representatives from national and municipal government agencies, hog raisers, feed sellers, market vendors, and other key stakeholders to discuss the factors contributing to the disparity between farmgate and retail prices and to identify possible measures that will help address the issue.

The dialogue was presided over by Hon. Arland F. Ramos, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, who facilitated the discussions among the participating stakeholders. Joining him were Hon. Irene U. Aggabao, Chairperson of the Committee on Commerce, Trade, Industry and Economic Enterprises; Hon. Virginia B. Sy, Vice Chairperson; committee members Hon. Cynthia C. Bangloy and Hon. Suzette D. Sebastian; as well as members of the Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Jervin P. Reyes, Vice Chairperson, Hon. Mike Cesar C. Montano, and Hon. John M. Sabiniano. Also present was Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Evelyn R. Raspado.

Also in attendance were Mr. Jezreel Ramos of NCBC-DTI, Mr. Rowell A. Tutaan, CDS II, Ms. Lorenza P. Luis, Market Inspector II, and Mr. Florante Leaรฑo of the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), together with hog raisers, feed sellers, market vendors, and other invited stakeholders.

The dialogue concluded with all participants expressing their collective agreement to strengthen coordination and cooperation in addressing the issues affecting the local hog industry. The stakeholders affirmed their commitment to continue working together through open communication and collaborative efforts toward practical and sustainable solutions that will help promote fair farmgate prices while ensuring reasonable retail prices for consumers.

Together, through dialogue and collaboration, we move toward a stronger and more sustainable agricultural sector for the people of Jones.

The inspection confirmed that the weighing scale is accurate and free from any irregularities, ensuring fair and transparent transactions for both sellers and buyers.

A simple but important step in promoting accountability and protecting the interests of our community.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Jones, Isabela successfully conducted its 32nd Regular Session on July 29, 2026 (Wednesday) under the leadership of Hon. Evelyn R. Raspado, Municipal Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer.

During the session, the Council deliberated on various legislative measures, including proposed resolutions, ordinances, budget-related matters, infrastructure initiatives, and other concerns aimed at advancing the welfare and sustainable development of the Municipality of Jones.

The Sangguniang Bayan was also pleased to welcome the second batch of student observers from Sgt. Prospero G. Bello High School. Their visit provided an opportunity to witness the legislative process firsthand and gain a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the local legislative body in promoting good governance and public service.
