KAMUSTA KA? ๐Ÿ’š

This Su***de Prevention Month, letโ€™s make โ€œKamusta?โ€ more than just a question. Let it be a reminder that checking in, listening, and simply being present can make a difference.

For every young person navigating lifeโ€™s highs and lows, you donโ€™t have to face everything alone. Letโ€™s build a youth community where itโ€™s okay to speak up, ask for help, and care for one another.

Sometimes, all it takes is a genuine โ€œKamusta ka?โ€ to start a meaningful conversation.

Check in. Listen. Care. Connect.
Because in youth development, every young person matters. ๐Ÿค

๐ŸŒซ๏ธ HAZE UPDATE | Stay Informed, Stay Safe

The Aklan Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) reminds everyone to stay alert as haze from forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia has reached parts of the Philippines, carried by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). Based on updates from DENR-EMB, the haze may continue to affect some areas of the country through September 1โ€“3.

As haze may affect air quality, especially for sensitive individuals, letโ€™s take simple steps to protect ourselves and our communities:

๐Ÿ˜ท Wear a mask when going outdoors, especially when the haze is noticeable.
๐Ÿ  Stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed when air quality is poor.
๐Ÿƒ Limit outdoor activities when possible.
๐Ÿ“ฑ Stay updated through official advisories and reliable sources.
๐Ÿค Look out for one another, especially children, older adults, and those who may be more sensitive to poor air quality.

Letโ€™s keep ourselves informed and make responsible choices for our health and the well-being of others. ๐Ÿ’š

Stay safe, Aklanon youth! ๐ŸŒฟ

HONORING THE SILENT HEROES OF OUR NATION

This National Heroes Day, we honor not only the heroes whose names are written in our history books, but also the silent heroes who rise with the sun, work the land, and help put food on every Filipino table.

Our farmers may not wear capes, but through their hard work, resilience, and dedication, they help nourish our communities and sustain our nation.

Today, we recognize and thank the hands that feed the nation.

To our farmers, you are heroes in every harvest.๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Under Section 30 of Republic Act No. 10742, or the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, the SK is mandated to conduct the annual Linggo ng Kabataan celebration to recognize the vital role of young people and promote meaningful youth participation.

Here in Aklan, with the help of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC), we turn this mandate into meaningful action through activities aligned with the 10 Centers of Youth Participation and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) creating meaningful opportunities for young Aklanons to participate, lead, and contribute to sustainable community development.

โœจ From a provision in the law to opportunities in our communities, Linggo ng Kabataan gives young Aklanons a space to participate, lead, and make a difference ๐Ÿ’™
