The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Aklan Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Kalibo, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kalibo headed by Hon. Juris B. Sucro and the Barangay Council of Caano, headed by Hon. Vic T. Mandal, conducted a Negosyo Center Information Caravan for the MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs of Barangay Caano, Kalibo, Aklan on July 14, 2026.

The activity aimed to bring DTIโ€™s programs and services closer to the community by providing participants with valuable information on business development assistance, consumer protection, and financing opportunities available for MSMEs.

The program featured discussions on DTI and Negosyo Center programs and services by Ms. Judy Ann B. Rendon, NC TIDS of Negosyo Center Kalibo and Consumer Rights and Responsibilities and Fair Trade Laws by Ms. Iris I. Sarabia, TIDS.

The activity was supported by the messages of SK Chairman, Hon. Mika Joy Legaspi of Caano, on behalf of Punong Barangay Hon. Vic T. Mandal.

To formally close the program, Hon. Ga***rd Cipriano, Barangay Kagawad of Caano, conveyed gratitude to the speakers and participants for the successful conduct of the activity.

Through the Negosyo Center Information Caravan, DTI continues to empower MSMEs and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing access to information, resources, and opportunities that help foster business growth and sustainability.

Sarabia, TIDS; Services offered for the MSMEs from the office of Municipal Agriculturist by Mr. Uriel Laspiรฑas, Municipal Agricultural Officer; and financing opportunities through the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) by Ms. Geralyn V. Gatlabayan, SB Corp., Provincial Coordinator.

The activity was supported by the messages of Mr. Joseph M. Ariel, Barangay Kagawad of Bachao Sur, on behalf of Punong Barangay Hon. Bernabe S. Aquino, and Ms. Carla Suner, Executive Secretary from the Office of the Municipal Mayor, on behalf of Hon. Juris B. Sucro.
