IN PHOTOS: A total of 1,904 families in Tangalan town received the first tranche of rice assistance under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Local Government Support Fund (LGSF)–Bawat Bayan Makikinabang Program.

In an interview, Tangalan Mayor Gene Fuentes said the LGU allocated P8 million from its P30-million LGSF Growth Equity Fund for the rice assistance component, exceeding the P5-million allocation required under program guidelines. He said the increased allocation was intended to provide more meaningful and sustained assistance to families most in need.

Beneficiaries were identified using data from the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS), with active Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries excluded as they already receive regular rice assistance. Under the program, each qualified family will receive 10 kilograms of rice every two months, with six releases planned.
The latest distribution was conducted in July, while the next distribution is scheduled for September.
