On July 30, 2026, DILG Kananga gave a short presentation on Gender and Development (GAD) during the 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗵-𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗠𝗔𝗙𝗖) 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture's Office.

The activity highlighted the importance of integrating gender perspectives in local planning and decision-making, fostering inclusive and responsive governance in the agriculture and fisheries sector.

On July 27, 2026, DILG Kananga presented the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 (𝗟𝗟𝗔) 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 to the members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Kananga. The orientation provided an overview of the updated guidelines and assessment process to support the Sangguniang Bayan in its preparation for the 2026 LLA.

The LLA recognizes city and municipal Sanggunians that demonstrate exemplary legislative performance in promoting good local governance.

DILG Kananga conducted a focused group discussion with the MSWDO, headed by the newly-designated OIC Atty. Vivian A. Gallardo.

The discussion focused on the results of the 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙑𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 (𝙇𝘾𝘼𝙏-𝙑𝘼𝙒𝘾) 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘼𝙪𝙙𝙞𝙩 and the updated indicators of the 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙖 under the Regional Local Governance Champions (RLGC).

The activity aimed to strengthen the municipality's social protection initiatives through collaboration, assessment, and continuous improvement in local governance.
